I had a detroit locker in my old camaro and LOVED it. I don't believe anyone has yet to release any cool differentials for the camaro rear, other than Janetty's posi mod and there is also a spool out.

In order to broaden your differential selection, you would have to do the 9" conversion, in which the differential/ring and pinion combinations would be endless

gear ratio would all depend on what kind of setup you have, how much horsepower, and how aggressive you want it to be.

That pretty well sums it up.

We recommend/sell/install the Driveshaftshop 9 inch conversion for over 650 RWHP Street strip cars.

Under that we build the stock diffs.

Ted.

I had the detriot locker in my first 9 inch diff in the 2010 that we took to the Camaro5 fest, i was in a hurry and grabed a diff from hendrick motorsports,it was terriable !! I can only imagine a spool lol. I would diffently ride in one before you buy,we had another customer start with a detriot locker even tho we warned him and he changed it out in a few weeks. You have alot of options with the 9 inch thats whats so great about it and the prices are reasonable. If i can help you with a great deal on the 9 inch kitt please give me a call.

I've read about a lot of trutrac issues too, once you replace a broken one you're at wavetrac prices to begin with, and the wavetrac has a lifetime warranty...

Food for thought.

Wavetrac all the way as it may cost more upfront but no worries in the end. I am running the Moser pumpkin with Wavetrac and GForce 9" with 35 spline with 3.25 gears.

The Wavetrac also comes in a 31 spline but if your going to spend the money I'd go with the 35 spline. We've been making allot of the big 35 spline stubs for the wavetrac, it's a very popular unit.
We have very few problems out of the truetac's though, it's a great posi as well but of course not as strong as the wavetrac but about half the price.
Give us a call if you have any questions about our fabricated 9" IRS kits.
