Smile Clutch Issues?

I am ordering my 2011 Camaro 2SS/RS (CGM/Blk Stripe) this week, I was debating between the auto and manual but am going with the manual. I was reading in one thread about manual owners having clutch problems. Can some of you (especially the 2010/2011 owners) give me some input in regards to your experience with the manual.

The clutch on these cars are definitely a weak link. Had the pedal stick to the floor twice then got a new clutch under warranty. The next week had the same thing happen again. Talked to GM again but they brushed me off. The engagement point on mine also seems to jump around alot. It started out lower and now it is way up high towards the top of the pedal travel. Not trying to scare you off of buying the manual but it is a junk of a clutch. Love the car but I have it in my mind when she burns up I am going to put a much better aftermarket clutch in.

I've had mine stick and it was under more aggressive driving.... normal everyday driving hasn't given any issues.

Is the clutch supposed to have automatic adjustment? The engagement point moving higher sounds like normal wear to me. (at least its normal in my semi. bout once a year i have to climb under it and adjust it)

Ive tuned both. Im a manual guy for last 32 years, but I like the way the A6s respond to tuning. I tune out a lot of the issues that guys complain about on this forum. IE, shift firmness, shift speed, sloppy long shifting, cylinder drop causing the confusion in which gear the transmission should be in, lack of kick down power when you jump on it. Once those issues are tuned out, I really like the automatic performance.

Without the tune, Id got with the stick.

I've driven the M6 since September, I haven't had any issues, but then again i haven't done any "aggressive driving" just zooming around the streets around slow people and occassionally unleashing the best to merge on the highway.

ADM Perf added a return spring on my clutch pedal under the dash. Not any return issues with spirited driving. Also, I added the ADM/LPE dual disc ZR-1 clutch, flywheel, and actuator. You got to pay to play as they say. One stat that surprised me is that about 25% of the fifth generation Camaro's are Man 6 and the rest are A6's.

Time to take it in for warranty work.

As far as "whats up" search around here and you see how to deal with the clutch issues and how to prevent....

I like standard but I have had too many issues with GM ignoring my complains about the m6 malfunctioning. I have spent 11 months to get it fixed no help from GM..

Let me put it to you this way. I had my car in for them to fix it.. And you can see the result in my first video.. I am sick and tire of GM ignoring me when I tell them that the car has issues. Look at my posts I have issues since june of last year.. Still no fix.: mad0260:
I hope my videos will help you to make your decesion,,,

I have had my Camaro since Dec. 09 and no clutch issues with aggressive acceleration. Maybe I was lucky, as not all LS3's have experienced clutch problems.

I have not had any problems with mine as well. But I believe in preventive maintenance, so I am going to repair or replace these issues before they happen. The list and $ needed is climbing.

Have you shown those videos to your dealership?

I know the V6 Transmission has serious problems, this is really something GM should address.
