Assist Requested from V-Flag Emblem Owners

I recently picked up nice set of NOS V-flag emblems. It seems the paint is very susceptible to chipping or flaking off. Does anyone know how to match the OEM inlaid colors on these, possibly with a more durable paint? Has anyone found a good way to protect the original paint inlays to help prevent paint loss? Anyone try a clear coat paint application over the emblems? Did you use spray on paint or touch-up brush to apply the clear coat? Thanks.

well I have them as well, and someone ask the same question a while back....I have had mine on for 1-1/2 years and still look like new. I guess one thing you could do would be to hand paint them again and clear them.

I have the same ones also and they are holding up fine, still look new.

I doubt the paint will just start to chip on it's own.

I have the same emblems and are on my 3rd set. The first set peeled after about 7 months. I spoke to the company and they said they hadn't had any troubles and that he would give me a 90 day warr on the 2nd set that I bought. On the 89th day one of them started peeling. I called them and they sent me 2 new ones at no cost and before I could put them on the other one started peeling in the same place (red in the far left section). They told me to send the bad ones in so the could research them. I just put the 3rd set on about 6 days ago and all is well as of now.

Well looks like I spoke too soon.

About to wash the car and took a look at my v flags and there are entire sections of paint missing, mostly the red and all the white.
I'm not about to try to repaint them myself, so looks like I'll be ordering another pair and clear coating those. Not sure if that will actually help though since it's paint ontop of metal with no primer or adhesion so the clear coat may come off as well.

Well I'm off to wash the car and ponder what an all Matt black v flag would look like.

I've had mine on for about a year now and have had no issues. Paint still looks fine.

I do not have a set but a buddy of mine does on his 2010. He applied 2 coats of his wifes clear nail polish hardener on them. Been on the car over a year without a single chip or flake missing. He puts on 2 coats about every 3 months or so.

Give that a shot.

I think there are different manufacturers for these emblems. Some of them have no issues some of them do.

I noticed most of the paint gone on mine after 8 months. Bought from Rick's Camaro/Ecklers. Just contacted them about it and awaiting reply....
