Window Tint question??

Hey All, I am getting my windows tinted this weekend and I am struggling which way to go. Option 1- Go 20% all the way around (except windshield) or Option 2- 35% on the drivers and passenger window and 20% on the small side glass and rear window.
I love the look of the 20% tint but worried about getting pulled over by the cops. Legal limit is 35% here in NC. As far as getting it inspected, I have a good friend that will inspect it for me. Have any of you had trouble with the cops regarding tint on your windows?? Any and all responses are appreciated. Thanks

i have had 35% all around now since id say august zero issues even with cops driving right by me and getting right behind me to check my plates =___= just because then they drive off......I have been thinking about getting my front driver and passenger side windows and the small rear windows redone to 20 % and leave the back windshield at 35% kinda hard to see at night since its small....but like you said i feel like with the 20% i would be pushing it too much and will prob get pulled over and i dnt want to :(

With a black interior, 35% will appear darker. I've had to go through the trouble of removing tint after a cop started targeting me until I had it changed. I'll be doing 35F/20%R.

go 20%, I have 20% sides and 5% rear window and I wish I went 5% all around, definitely go 20%.

i went 35% in the front windows and 20% on the back windows. then i got the 35% taken off and put 20% on the front one. so i had 20% all around.

then one day i got a ticket with 20% and said screw this i am going 5%. and now i have 5% all around. if i can get pulled over for 20% i am going to go 5%

I really wish I went with the 5% all around, can the tint shops put tint over my 20% or does it definitely have to be taken off.

Keep it legal. I wanted 20% so bad but when I went to look at some tint, a young kid just had his Mustang done in 15% and as soon as he pulled out of the lot, a cop had been eyeballing the whole deal and pulled him immediately.

I got the 35%, it's obviously not as dark as I would have liked but with my car being CGM, it looks good. I went with llumar vs 3M - lifetime warrantee. Good Luck.

my tint shop said they could do it, as long as they are tinting over there tints. my back window was actually tinted over to match 5% as close as possible. i cant remember why they didn't suggest tinting over the side ones, but it was possible. i would talk to your shop

my car looks way to good not to have 5% tints. sure its a risk. but i drive it mostly in the spring and summer and i can just roll down the windows if i see a cop or they will be rolled down most of the time away ways
