With the auto bailout and GM's current finanical situation should we still expect them to offer an in dash navigation system starting in December 2009? Has this news been updated:

from what I have been reading Nav will not be in the camaro. . . They would have to redesign the entire dash to fit a nav screen in there.

the camaro will have to sell well and make profit before adding additional costly features.

I understand its nice to have the whole thing intgrated but I don't want any sort of technology like that embedded into my car like that. Technology changes waaayyy too much to have it stuck in there with limited to no updates. Also, I don't think GM (or anyone else for that matter) uses a solid nav company like Garmin or TomTom to create their software. Aftermarket is MUCH better for this kind of stuff. I know that's just my opinion and some may feel that the integration trumps the fact that it'll be out-dated when you drive it off the lot but "Form Follows Function" in my book. Think about nav units from 3 years ago... would you want that junk today?

i have a nav from two years ago that got me all the way from Los Angeles to Middleofnowhere Houston without a single wrong turn when i was moving out here

I don't understand where this continuous speculation of navigation being added to the Camaro keeps coming from, or worse with "confirmed dates".

The Car was made a concept in 2006, if they were going to build it with Nav that was a common option in 06, so its HIGHLY likely the car would have had it at launch if they were gonna add it. The dash design would require extensive modification to add it. And GM has never ever even mentioned adding this type of feature ever to the Camaro.

If you are waiting for Navigation you may as well wait for the 6th Gen Camaro while you're at it.

I don't think we ever had even a rumor on getting NAV on the camaro. Only people making demands for NAV. GM has turn by turn navigation now, which is an actual human being telling you where to go over your stereo speakers. No need for a nav.

No, you won't get NAV on the Camaro. Give it up already.
You'll get turn by turn. Live with it or get a stand along GPS unit.
