Problem...

So basically, I need to sell my car to buy my Camaro (2LT + RS).

Camaro in the end will be close to 30k. My bets are I can get 26k for my car, and I'd just work for the other 6. I'm 17 years old. I'd rather earn the entire 6 then go take it out of my savings, as those are for college, future house, etc. It would take me like, 6-7ish months to earn the 6k.

It will probably be a year from now to where I could actually just drive the exact car I want off the lot, and maybe still marked up?

Anywho, if I pre-ordered, and put the 2k down or whatever they ask, that's non refundable obviously. But, would I be able to get my car in 6 months when I have the money? Or would I have to get it whenever they told me to buy it?

The deposit is can be refundable. I believe it's law that it is in some states.

And 2 brand new NICE cars @ 17?!?!?!??!?!?!?! WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!?

And P.S... using your numbers, 30k-26k is 4k, not 6...

Yeah but I don't want that catback they're offering as an option and that's going to cost some money too.

And my Accord wasn't "new" off the lot, my neighbor was going down fast and sold me it at a good price with 980 miles on it. Now I have like, 2200 or so. So hopefully it has some good value still.

I think the GM catback is only for V8s. You'd probably have to go aftermarket.

Oh I thought it was for V6 too, my bad. Thanks

And thanks for helping me! I feel much better knowing it's refundable.

Just find one who has allocations and make sure your near the end, which you probably will have no problem with that, dealers are filling up there allocations as we speak. You should have 6 months if you do this now before 3/15, after that all bets are off, u may end up waiting longer or you might be able to walk off with a lot car, who knows! I would preorder if I were you, prices might go up, hope not but they might, depending on how much the people want them just like everything else. But that is just MHO. My theory is get on while you can or you might just miss out! GL

Oh and here's an idea, don't buy a brand new car and then sell it immediately, especially in a market like this. D'oh. Rich kids and money skills....

Maybe he did like me and waited for 4 years for GM to announce Camaro release and got fed up and purchased a POS Suzuki just to have transportation and then 3 months later GM announces the 2010 Camaro pre-order......FAIL. Oh well at least I'm only upside down about $1k.

Anybody else wondering how Bawt has an '09 Accord with NO loan on the car at 17? Heck, an a bit older than that and have a good job, but nowhere near good enough to own an '09 anything without a car note.

Please Bawt, tell us your secret.

Bawt, if you have a loan on the car, then there is no way you will have $26k for the Camaro if that is what you sell the Honda for.

The smart things would be to buy one 6-9 months old and let someone else take the 25% hit on 'new price'...

That's what I'm going to do!

I've have a job since close to the day I turned fourteen, and have held it over three years.

I make like 12k a year off it.

Like three posts above I stated I bought the Honda off my neighbor who was jobless (realestate) with 900or so miles.

If you're interested I got a $30,000 car practically new, perfect shape, for 18k. And I've kept it in perfect shape.

If you have any more qestions feel free to PM me!
