Problems with Fidanza 7.6 Series Twin Disk Clutch - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I installed a Fidanza 7.6 series Twin Disk Clutch and have put a few hundred miles on the clutch and so far my first impression is that it stinks and I wished I had not bought it. It chatters (shudders) on take-off's and also makes a loud squealing most of the times. It's really embarrassing on when everyone is looking over at me because a loud squealing noise is coming from my car when I take off from a stop. It also makes a grinding sound at idle (Like a throw-out bearing) when in neutral and the clutch is not pressed in. I am definitley changing it out with another brand and I have notified Ted that I am not happy with it and he asked that I call him on Monday to discuss. I am not sure what will be done on Fidanza's part but it will be replaced with another brand. If Fidanza does not step-up and take it back then I wil be sure to keep everyone posted what the outcome is. As far as Ted goes he has always gone above and beyond with his service.

Can anyone recommend a clutch that has a close to stock feel and will hold around 800 rwhp/torque without the chatter and squealing? I am not there yet but will probably be there soon.

ACT is fine have had no problems or noise......

I am really disappointed with the Fidanza so far. I know they say you need to give it a few hundred miles to break in and I have driven it a few hundred miles and it has not got any better at all and it's really embarrassing to take off from a stop and it starts letting out a loud squeal...

Update... While in CT to have Jannetty Racing fix other problems that another installer messed up Ted was able to get Fidanza to take the clutch back and I received a full refund. Since I was already there I had Ted to install a ZR1 clutch and so far I really like it. It's smooth on take off's shifting and no noise of any kind from the clutch at all. The pedal also feels better with the ZR1 clutch ovetr the stock clutch.
