Delivery to/from another state?

Sorry if this is noobish, but I didn't see this asked/answered yet.

Can I order my Camaro out of state and have it delivered, as part of the $750 delivery, to a local in-state dealer for prep?

I've seen several folks on here say that this is possible, however the receiving dealer will likely charge a "PDI" fee for prepping the car for delivery. I was told by one dealer in MY area this PDI fee was $400. I was then told they would not allow me to have a Camaro drop shipped to them regardless.

So, you'd have to find a selling dealer willing to have the vehicle drop shipped, then find a receiving dealer willing to accept the vehicle and negotiate the PDI fee with that receiving dealer.

Thanks for the fast reply.

I would think that with the low allotments, local dealers are going to run out of their 4 or 5 very quickly -- the argument I would make is "since I can't actually buy one from you, you can either make $0 off me as a customer, or make $400 off me by accepting and prepping my car." The latter solidifying them as a decent dealer, one whom I would come back to for parts, service, yadda yadda...

I figured local dealers would be selling out quickly as well, but they're not. Every dealer I've called has at least half their initial allocation still available.

That's another reason I'm not really in a hurry to go put a deposit down. These cars are still easily available in my area. I'm now waiting on the best deal below MSRP.
