Raceramps

If you guys need low proflile ramps, then check out Reverse logic limited.
I know race ramps aren't cheap, but they seem to have the best prices and free shipping to the lower 48. I just ordered a set of 4 wheel chocks
for my raceramps for $48 shipped.

I have been looking at these for a while but I was unsure if the SS needed the 56" or 67" version.

Which ones do you guys all have?

I bought the 2 piece 67" x 10" height versions. Nice gradual slope. A must for lowered Camaros...

I got the 2 pc 56" ramps. the camaro should be ok on either model. It depends on how high of ramp you want. the 56" are 8" high and the 67" are 10" high. you can
go to the race ramp web site and they show how to measure to make sure you
can use them.

Cardboard ramp gauge to determine approach angle

You can make a simple ramp gauge from a scrap piece of corrugated cardboard that is 12" wide by 30" long. It helps if the corrugations run parallel to the width of the cardboard.

Fold one end of the cardboard down 1/2" from the edge. This approximates the thickness of the leading edge of the Race Ramps. Make another fold 24" from the first to form a 24" cardboard ramp gauge that is 5.5" high at the taller end.

Set the gauge in front of the front tires. If your car clears the gauge, then the standard 56" or 67" Race Ramps with a 10.75 degree incline will work with your car. If your car is lowered you can try trimming the 5.5" leg down to 3.5". If the shortened gauge fits, you can use the standard ramps with an XTender. Alternatively you could use the new two-piece, two-stage incline Race Ramps sold by Reverse Logic. These ramps have a 6.8 degree initial incline.

The two-stage incline ramps are available in two models, an RLL-72-2 (72") and RLL-87-2 (87"). The 72" version is 8" high by 12" wide, and the 87" model is 10" high by 14" wide. We offer a Trailer Ramp Adapter for the RLL-87-2 ramps that converts the incline section of the ramp into a Trailer Ramp similar to a RR-TR-8XL ramp.

Not to hijack the thread, but I have these for my Subaru Outback and they do the job. What makes Raceramps that much better?

Value proposition for Race Ramps

The 56" and 67" solid foam core Race Ramps are wider and taller than the hollow plastics ramps typically available at auto superstores. This means that your tires don't hang over the edge of the ramps and that you will have more wrench room to work under the car.

The incline angle on the more popular Race Ramps is 10.75 degrees and some Race Ramps have an incline angle as low as 6.8 degrees. This means that cars with low ground clearance can climb the ramps without scraping the front end. It also means that you don't have to use a heavy foot on the throttle to get up the ramps and quickly apply the brakes to keep from riding over the stops.

The 2" or 3" high stops on Race Ramps are higher than those on the plastic ramps which are typically just over 1" high.

The plastic ramps typically have a honeycomb construction which means that there is very little surface contact on the ground (probably 10% to 20%.) Race Ramps have a solid core so the contact surface area is 100% of the ramp bottom surface. It's not uncommon for the plastic ramps to slide across your garage floor. Race Ramps don't budge.

Race Ramps has many related products which complement its primary service ramps. Products like Roll-Ups, Wheel Cribs, and Trailer Ramps to name a few. There is no comparison to the total solution offered by the Race Ramps product line and the few SKUs available from the plastic ramps manufacturers.

For people who care about where the ramps are made, Race Ramps are made in the USA.

In summary, Race Ramps are better suited for low cars with wide tires. They offer more wrench room and they are an order of magnitude safer than plastic ramps. You will be hard pressed to find someone who bought Race Ramps who regrets making the purchase.
