Tire recomendations for a 600rwhp daily driver
Soon I'll be putting on my cam and LS3 conversion, should be approaching if not at 600rwhp. Im getting the forgestar f14 20x9 front 20x11 rear. I am considering the Toyo R888 for the rear and Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 for the front. Heres the catch 22. It rains constantly in WA the roads are wet more than half the time. Hydroplaining is not a concern of mine I just want the best tire combo with a balance of wet and dry handling and to give the car at least some confidence while getting on it in the rain.
Any recomendations? thanks in advance |

That kind of HP and wet roads equals no real tire that can hook the power and still "hook" the roads, 1 tire may be great for road handling and another may be great for take-off traction but you will have to give a little to get the best of both worlds. Sorry, I don't have a clue what way to point you. Guess I just wasted your time and everyone elses.....sorry..........

I'm over 700 rwhp and I still cruise around on the stockers. Rain, shine, or whatever. As you already know that you barley use half of that power so with sensible driver most of what you are looking at will be fine. Gd luck!!

Lots...you will need lots of tires. Tell me which tires you buy. I am going to invest in the company you choose.

To clarify I'm looking specifically for a all around performance tire that will excell in wet take-off traction. The guy who set up my tune made it so its very well behaved cruising but around the 2300-2500 rpm range she turns into a whole nother beast....when she does its impossible not to spin in the rain. Also I'd like to get a bare minimum 10k miles out of em. NITTO INVO's maybe .

Every time I find a tire that seems it would fit the bill they dont me em that wide (IE NT555)Heres a noob question about (roughly) how many miles would I get out of the Toyo Proxes R888? and what are peoples thoughts about wet handling. Seems like they have the right tread design. PLEASE have good tread life!!! |

I have used the Toyo Proxes4 and the Toyo Proxes STII. Both seem to handle as well as the PZero's. Like Copper3000 stated above, I am using the Atturo AZ800's on my car now (rears only) 315/35/20's and they handle real well. I don't use them on the dragstrip, just street. I have 625rwhp too...

that whole SUV/performance truck title throws me for a loop though. Would 325/25ZR20 Continental Extreme contact DW fit or is that to much buldge for the wheel well? I also plan on putting on the 1.25" Pfadt drop springs soon.

Right on. I believe I've narrowed in down between the Michilen Super Sport (which Tirerack makes out to be the next get Ps2) and the Pirrelli Pzero Rosso. I do appreciate the input on the Atturo but theres not enough test data available for them. (Im completely over thinking this lol) But I haven't ruled them out yet

What about Michelin Pilots? I have heard a lot of good things about these tires and I love the Michelin brand. They may be a little spendy but if you are looking for peace of mind I would recommend Michelin.
