Depends on what kind of spoiler you are thinking about. Something like this might be overkill for a street V6 application but there are some really nice ones out there.

get the factory ss spoiler. subtle, well fit, and very nicely shaped. wont hurt a thing.
DO NOT put a rice burner spoiler on your Camaro.
just the wrong thing all the way around

my standard answer for this question is: your ass makes your ass look big.

I know this doesn't help you. Doesn't really help me either but, it makes me laugh.

In all seriousness though, I think the Camaro looks naked without a spoiler of some sort. Just as long as it isn't a ricer one that is.

No I said it would be over kill. What I was saying is that on a dedicated track car where a spoiler like that serves a purpose it works, but for a V6 street car it just looks stupid.

Depends on the spoiler. I think my spoiler bulked me up a bit but I love the muscular look.

So, the wing in post #2 can generate up to about 77lbs of downforce @ 80mph with a 0 degree angle of attack on the center airfoil. Jumps to up to about 100lbs possible at 10 degrees AoA @ 80mph. May not see more than half of that at normal highway speeds, but it's not insignificant enough to dismiss completely.

In the end, it's your car and your money, and you've got to decide what you want to go for, even if that may be unpopular.
