Stock Transmission able to take 1000+hp?

Anyone know if the transmission can take this much hp as is or is there something I should do?

That's a tough one. I know there are guys making some big horsepower on the 6L80, but I think it's just a matter of time. The transmission is only rated at 469 HP (flywheel) and 439 TQ. My transmission didn't last long once I added 600 to the wheel. The 4/5/6 clutch packs actually fused together. I spoke with a GM tech who said he's even seen this happen with stock motors. My builder (ARD) put together a stage III transmission upgrade for me. Shifting is amazing now and everything is holding together fine so far.

I doubt anything in the drivetrain can take 1000hp stock. Engine, tranny, rear-end, half shafts, CV joints...For 1000hp, everything would probably need an upgrade, either upfront, or shortly thereafter when it breaks.
