Hurst Short Shifter vs stock shifter

I Just placed my ordered for a camaro 2SS with an LS3. I choose to go with the regular shifter. The salesman talked me out of ordering the optional Hurst Shifter. He said the shortness between gears was a big pain and it was not worth the money.

Should I have ordered the Hurst Short shifter there is still time for me to update my order.

I plan to use the car as a daily driver, I also plan to teach my kids how to drive on this car and teach my wife how to drive a stick...does it make a difference?

Thanks

I have the Hurst shifter in my SS and I test drove both before ordering mine...I drive mine daily also (even though I tend to drive it hard from time to time!) and would not get the stock shift. The short throw felt easier and quicker when I test drove them. I felt that for only $380 to add it, it was worth it!

The STOCK shifter SUCKS! Well its great if your used to a 1994 honda civic... its about the same throw. Get the aftermarket Hurst (or any other brand)... its GREAT!

I drove both and agree with the others--get the Hurst short throw. No more "effort" but a nice, slick short throw between gears. You won't regret it.

I know , I was just razzing him a bit, plus it's a pet peeve of mine that people call these trims SS1 or SS2. It is 2SS or 1SS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know why but it bugs the crap out of me.

Will New DefenderWorx Pistol Grip Shift Knob Fit?

I want to put on a DefenderWorx pistol grip shifter on my Hurst short throw. Does anyone know if it will fit? I called DefenderWorx and they say they don't know the difference between the Hurst optional shifter knob and the stock shifter knob.

It's the same fit. In the future, you should make a new thread for something like this instead of resurrecting and thread jacking a 2 year old thread.
