Mobil 1 regular, not extended performance
Napa gold oil filter

Don't know your prior oil changing experience, but a good tip is to wear disposable latex gloves. Not only do they help keep your hands clean, but they help prevent burns in that if you get some hot oil on your hand, you can take the glove off quickly

No problem, I know what a pain searching these threads can be. I also added a magnet drain plug from advance auto parts with my first change. I'm pretty OCD with my vehicles, and alot of people will argue the different brands of oil, but I've always used mobil 1 exclusively, and it's the factory fill, so why mess with it

Oh, and 5w30 is the weight to use.

The magnet drain plug collects metal shavings as they pass by in the oil pan. It's not something you absolutely need, but every little bit helps.

What exactly is your oil changing experience? If little, here are some more tips:

Too loose is better than too tight! You are better off leaking some oil than stripping something. For the oil filters, I crank them by hand only, using a clean latex glove which gives me added grip. Sometimes a need a wrench to get them off, though, but rarely. For the drainplug, snug is the best term I can come up with. After the bolt gets tight, I put my hand over the center of the ratchet, not the end of the handle, this gives less torque, and I tighten the bolt that way. Remember, you can always tighten it more if it leaks, but you can't tighten it less if it strips!

Make sure to put some oil on the oil filter gasket

Make sure the oil filter gasket comes off with the old filter.

Go get some rhino ramps 8000lbs. I've been changing my own oil for 15 years with jacks and stands, and only tried the ramps with this car. Wow, that is sooo much easier and I wish somone would have told me years ago!

Once again, let me know what experiance you have changing oil and I'll see what other tips I can think of!

Slightly off topic but how do you "document" changing your oil yourself as far as trying to comply with all warranty requirements?
