New dyno numbers AFTER Headers!!!

Some of you may remember my other thread about trying (against most everyones advice) a G6X3 cam without upgrading to long tube headers. I thought it would be ok, not great numbers, but not horrible. I was wrong.
The car dynoed 412 hp before the cam and 422 hp after the cam. It was very dissappointing but I knew it was a chance I was taking, trying to save the money on the headers.
My car now has a set of 1 7/8 long tubes and has been retuned. Now for the new numbers.

All mods the same between pulls except headers and cats (CAI intake, solo cats, x pipe, flowmasters, dyno tune)

BEFORE headers 422hp / 408tq

AFTER headers 465hp / 422tq

I can't express enough thanks to Jon at http://www.oversteeringonline.com
and XS Power for responding to emails on Sat & Sun and getting my headers to me Wed so I could get things done.

Aslo a huge thanks to Ron and the crew at Vengeance Racing http://www.vengeancerd.com for getting my car in on very short notice and getting things retuned for me before Pony Wars!

The car now runs like it should and I am expexting some very good ET's this weekend.

So to anybody thinking of doing what I did by not getting headers..........
DON"T DO IT !!!!!!!

Numbers are a bit on the low side for a G6X3 in an M6 car. I would have guessed at least 475rwhp. 480+ is very common.....

Every dyno is different I guess....just a little below norm IMO.

Depends on the tuner, and not all Camaros are going to produce exact same numbers especially with varying parts. I've got 476, just a simple COMP blower CAM no fancy GXnnn whatever CAM.

you could have the "best" tuner in the world tune your car, but if the dyno is not accurate you will never know your true numbers. all camaros produce around the same numbers with same mods with a tuner knowing what he is doing. my point is that sometimes its the dyno that is giving bad numbers, and not the tuners

Glad things worked out with the headers!!!! Kinda figured they would! How about some videos at the pony wars. We also need a clip of the idle now you have the LT's!

It is a little lower than some I have seen, but most people also go ahead and put on a U/D balancer when apart, I did not which would proprably put me by itself 470-473hp + a better header would add a few also. Bottom line for the $$$$ I'm happy.

XS Power 1 7/8 stainless long tubes. As mentioned above a little power was left on the table maybe with the headers. I would imagine between the cone inside the collector on the higher end headers and minor differences there is maybe 5-15hp lost on these headers. They also took a little ( and I mean minor) massaging for adequate clearance at the steering shaft and rt frame rail. I think for the $$$ they can't be beat. The 1 7/8 I looked at ranged from 900 - 1200. The XS Power were about 400 so you get what you pay for right? ( I really feel like I got more than I paid for in this case and would do it again in a heartbeat.)
400 for 40hp or 1000 fo 50hp? You decide.
