Built in tracker in all Camaros?

New to the site and the Camaro, I have a few questions for JUST the real Camaro/engine/trany pros. Please do not reply if you are not a pro at all of this. I've changed to the X-Pipe and straight thru mufflers. Coming down from the engine on the pipes are 2 bulges. My friend said they have to go. If I remove them - a) what goes in place (just pipe?) - b) Will whatever goes there increase the horsepower? And c) How much louder will the car be?

As we all know about any car - the speedometer can be off a few MPH with actual and any other car. However, I have 2 GPS in the car - that both have the EXACT same speed all the time. Gee. I wonder why? NOT! They get the same info, from the same place.

The question: WHY would the car speedometer have the EXACT same speed as both GPS? Coincidence? Not going for it. Highly doubtful. I'm thinking that GM has a built in - tracker/gps in all of what? Camaro? All new Cars? Because there is no way in hell, the car S-D - is coincidentally the same as two GPS. And I had the LoJack removed and pulled the fuse on the On star so no trackers/gps there.

If they are indeed getting the speed via gps, then just pulling the fuse won't do it. Try disconnecting the gps antenna. I doubt it though, gps isn't reliable enough for true vehicle spied and odometer readings.

Take off your foil hat...

The camaro measures speed electronical in the transmission..it just happens to be very accurate...think about it...how could it tell u how fast u r going in a parking garage?

The things you are referring to on your exhaust is your catalytic converters...removing them without a tune will give you a CEL...it will probably add a little HP but you would be better off getting LT headers for the most benefit

The speedo does not use GPS in any way shape or form. It is a simple concept that the speedo calulates off of tire rotations to determine how fast you are going. In order for GPS to do it it would need to be hyper accurate and hyper updating I used to do search and rescue finding ELT locators and in some harsh terrains such as in the moutains the best GPS locators were only accurate to about 80ft - 200ft so as you could see how could you possibly use it to track speed as needed with a speedo. It works by seeing one tire rotation and saying on that means we went x amount of feet in y amount of time and then calculates from there. Simple elementry physics

DUDE!! WHAT HE SAID

oh and BTW, Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's and wive's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Why would your car have the exact same speed as showing up on your GPS? PURE LUCK?

I use a GPS in my Camaro and it is always off by 1 MPH. So, no, I don't believe they are using GPS to calcuate speed or to TRACK you. However, if you have ONSTAR, then yes, they could track you that way, but I don't think they are. Besides I don't care if they do.

Time to stop thinking GM cares how fast you go or where you go. The government is not out to get you. Take the TIN FOIL Hat off.

Dude, you use 2 GPS units? You sure are helping the government keep an eye on you. You don't think they would let you access all those GPS satellites and NOT track their usage, do you?

You better hide quick. I hear some black helicopters.
