1LT priced at $24,049?
Ok, so I have been looking around for awhile and I came across a camaro at a dealership near my house that was new 2011 cyber grey 1LT with connectivity package for $24,049 (MSRP 27,545)
. I was going to go in on a weekend to look at it, when I come to find out that it had been sold two days prior to me stopping by . I thought wow what a deal for that car, considering people are buying them for $26,000.00. I still have the ad, and I have brought it to the attention of other dealerships if they would match that price or stay around that price, so far no one is willing to part with the camaro for that kind of money. So far I have seen one other dealership with those same options (different color) priced at 24,329.00 (I did not buy, because I dont like red).:(I was wondering what other people paid for that kind of car with those options? And is there a dealer out there that would sell me a car at that price? I live in IL. |

Ok so I just went on their site and here is another car they are selling in red for 25,049 with 1.9apr. Check it out, how is it that this dealership is selling cars way below msrp and others are asking 2,000.00 over. Keep in mind this car is advertised as a internet sale, and ends April 30, but still this is a great price! I called the dealership and they said 1.9% is the true apr for this car.
THIS IS JUST ONE EXAMPLE OF THE GREAT PRICES YOU CAN FIND AT advantagechevbb.com VIEW THOUSANDS OF ACTUAL PHOTOS AND DEEP DISCOUNTED PRICES ON EVERY NEW CHEVROLET IN OUR VAST INVENTORY. HAVING TWO LARGE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIPS IN THE CHICAGOLAND AREA ALLOWS US TO SELL IN VOLUME AND PASS THE SAVINGS ON TO YOU. WE PAY TOP DOLLAR FOR YOUR TRADE. Not everyone will qualify for 1.9% apr. These cars are called "loss leaders" in the car business. Usually says "one only, subject to prior sale" in the ad. You get there and it's gone. Then the sales person says, "but we have this one over here for a bit more money".
Bait and switch. |

Chevy dealers are getting greedier than ever. One called me today wanting me to trade my 10 LS in on a new ragtop. Wanted full sticker for the rag, and offered less than book trade-in for my pristine coupe. Then just could not understand why I would not take whatever color they had in stock instead of my choice of white with orange stripes. What a bunch of putzs.

FYI, if you are a AAA or costco member tell the lot. Some of them are under contract to give you the lowest price they can. For example once I found out about this some lots dropped their price on their 2lt SGM to $29k out the door.

I like the dealer who makes a firm price deal on the phone, and when you get to the dealer, they claim the person you talked to has never worked there, but..."Sit down and we can work on a deal"

I am determined to find the ultimate deal (or just dreaming), but I would assume that dealers would have to come down in price for a 2011 since the 2012 models will be here before you know it.

It's not a bait and switch as long as they really did sell the car that was advertised. It is however the dealership's responsibility to contact the advertising source and update the ad.
If the car was not really sold or they didn't update their ad in a timely manner, THEN it is shady. Loss leaders are simply a way to get people in the door and clear out aged merchandise.

a dealer in my town is still trying to sell a 2SS sw w/iom stripes 2010 last i looked could be had for 30,000. seems like if a person can wait out the first wave of buyers prices start getting more sane. at least that is what the wife and i are hoping for when we get looking seriously at a convertible in 2 years.

i bought mine used from the dealer with 2500 miles on it, got it for 5000 below MSRP and its a certified used car so i also got an extra 12mo 12000 mi war. It was titled 6 mo before i purchased so i received 3.5 yr bumper to bumper!
An absolutely perfect car with a couple of miles on it and saved $5000
