Does this happen to you when you're driving down the street? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I have owned this car for four days now. I drive it every chance I get (I work from home).

This has all happened to me:

1. People pull up beside the car and take pictures of it with their cell phone cams.

2. If I am stopped at a light, they roll down the window and yell "nice car"!

3. The neighborhood kid can't stop admiring it and keeps shouting "I love you car"!

4. I come out of the local restaraunt and there is a group standing around the car.

5. If I drive by people jogging or walking on the street, they snap their heads around to see what it is.

6. I had one Camaro coup owner wave, flip a U turn and follow me for about a mile. I bet he wished he waited :-)

I could go on and on. Is this normal? My wife thinks I am imagining it.

That happens to me with my coupe so I can't imagine what it'd be like in a convt.

Ha Yes,, I have had people turn around and park near me, to get out and look at the car.
saw a coupe coming toward me at a stop light,, he slowed down,,and looked the car over, and said nice car
get a lot of thumbs up,

Going through construction on the road to work, the car caused a scene ! The construction crew all came over to look at the car and ask every possible question in the world.

I get different responses.... I got a thumbs up

followed very shortly by him turning his hand over to a thumbs down

from a 00-02 Trans Am driver..... then as we passed he reved his engine in protest.... oh well the kids love it!

Wow, that's awesome. I remember getting attention when I got my car and I have one of the preorders. I saw my first convertible two weeks ago white w/ black top

I had a Chally pull up next to me, roll down the window and ask....."Is that a '10 or '11"?

I have noticed a couple of things since driving this car that are surprising....

1) The vast majority of Mustang drivers are women. Before I had this car, I never really cared to look.

2) Most convertible owners don't drive with the top down even on beautiful days. Again, I never really paid attention before but in 75-85 degree sunny days, WHY oh WHY do you NOT have the top down? Mustangs, BMW's, Corvettes, Solaras.......etc)

I've had the same things happen to me. Tonight I even had a Challenger that I had been following, go down the block from where I had turned off and do a U so they could come back and see it again. They pulled into the gas station next to where I was in the drive thru line picking up dinner and watched me go thru the drive thru.... Them:

Base off Reports of Coupe owner back in 2009, Get use to it. The sounds like the Convertible Camaro is Round two.

GM, WILL SURVIVE AND WILL BE BETTER THAN EVER. 2011 Camaro SS (6-Speed) w/RS Package. Its Great to be back in Black and a Chevy Again. ----------------------------
