Axle Back or Cat Back?

Which exhaust system do you recommend?

I'm wondering this as well, I've pretty much made up my mind with the Borla S-type series...

Also, I know this is off topic, but what is (and I mean hands down) the best CAI available to date? I was thinking either CAI or Air raid (only reason I say air raid is because I read in the forums somewhere they re-designed or used different/new material on their CAI that made them better?)

I have a v6, and this is the thread from my install. Thought you might want to click on the installer's info about what they do on the SS.

Good luck...I listened and listened to different setups before I decided which one to go with. I should do a new recording now that it's been on the car for a year!

If you can afford it..cat back

Axle back is for sound improvement. I couldn't afford the cat back right off the bat when I bought this car. However, I NEEDED! a sound improvement from the weak stock system. Later, you can always get the xpipe...

Cat back won't give you a lot of gains over axle back..the stock H pipe was done rather well. However, I believe the catback will set you up better for additional mods down the road such as CAI and Headers..

As stated if you can afford it..go for it. If you only want sound and don't see yourself doing any other mods..axle back.

If your just looking to improve the exhaust note I would go with an axle-back system. If you want the most performance and might upgrade your headers down the road then you may want to go with a cat-back system.
