Low cost rally stripe package
Another question, I got my Camaro without any factory stripes (the Cyber Gray color was a must but the rally stripes were a want). I noticed that PFYC.com has a 3M rally stripe package that costs just over $100. They look identical to the one that Chevy offers. Anybody tried these out? Success? Failure? I really like the look of the rally stripes but $400+ is hard to swallow.
Thanks, |

Save your money and have them painted on. I have an Inferno Orange and jsut had Black stripe painted on. It looks better than ever.

Hmm, I was under the impression that a painted-on solution was pretty pricy.

Correct. Painting is a slightly more pricey choice

WELL worth the money tho! You just bought a $35k + car and your worried about a few hundred difference on the stripes, lol! Average pricing I found in SE Florida was $1k... but that was because I wanted them blended into the clear; no edges. Just a routine paint/sand/clear should run about $600-$700. Mine had to be resanded and re cleared to get the glass finish I desired...
Granted, vinyl has come a long way since my 98 had em... but still; there's gonna be edges, no matter how "glossy" they try to make them- its still paper and its not.nearly the sheen of paint. Do yourself.a favor- if you plan on keeping this car for awhile, don't take the cheaper route, painting makes a HUGE difference!

I know, I know... It was hard enough talking my wife into the car in the first place. :-) Thanks for the advice, guess I'll save up my pennys for the paint solution.

Im with the rest of you guys. I had mine sanded, painted, sanded and cleared. You can even feel the lines. Cost me $800.00 with pinstriped edges around the stripes
