2011 SS to dealer for the infamous thud

It's been noisy (thuds) when going over bumps since I bought it last October. Since reading the threads here I finally decided I'd better take it in. I'm used to the noise, just didn't want to be wrecking something. I'll post results.

Standard GM BS Answer

Yes, we drove your car, and yes we heard the thud. We checked everythiiing for tightness, et. al. and everything was up to spec. No it shouldn't do that and we're sure GM is working on a solution
Yeh, right!!!

Could be a thump

Thud may be the wrong word. However, on a thread or two here there are SS owners who get neither a thud or a thump.

I would hear a thud occassionaly when I would make turns... it was my owner's manual hitting the side of my glove compartment

Thankfully haven't heard the thud/thump yall are talking about.

So far the solution has been to publish a bulletin to the dealers telling them to inform the customer that the loose lumber noise is normal.

Personally I think the front suspension engineer could use a little loose lumber upside the head .

How they could dismiss a suspension knocking noise as normal is beyond belief.

Engineers think differently than consumers. You would be surprised as to what they call "within tolerance".

I know that this is probably not what any of you are going to want to hear but I actually just posted the results of an inquiry I made to our Technical Assistance team and they provided me with a document that pertains to the Camaro and a certain front end noise. The document states that unless the tech/mechanic is unable to find any issues with the tightness of the front end suspension or any parts then the noise is normal. Once again I apologize and understand this is not something you want to hear.
