For Current RS owners: 6000k HID Upgrade How-To and Review of AAC (56k no)

Hey guys,

So I have been searching for a 6000k D1S solution for quite some time now, as we always see the non-RS cars upgrading to HID's, but not so many upgrades for the current HID guys. The bulb you need is D1S. THey are more expensive than other bulbs, but it's a VERY easy install, as all it is is the bulb swap, no mounting ballasts or anything like that. I made my purchase after speaking with AAC in regards to this request. They were very helpful providing knowledge for my purchase, as they were when i purchased my CCFL afterburner lights and reverse LED lights.

The bulbs are AWESOME. They're exactly what I was looking for, they come with a lifetime warranty, and they are a small price compared to the quality you get. I highly recommend them. My walk through is on the pictures themselves. Let me know if you need any help. If anyone wants to purchase these, contact AAC on the forums with the temperature and the D1S size.

Thanks!

Adam

EDIT: FORGOT A STEP IN HERE, ROTATE THE LOCKING BRACKET IN THE OTHER PICTURES COUNTER-CLOCKWISE TO "UNLOCK" THE BULB FROM THE HOUSING, THEN JUST SLIDE STRAIGHT OUT OF THE HOUSING.

great write up. So do the 6000K D1S bulbs match AAC's halo ring?

Nice write up!

I wonder what their DRL Plasma's run at. I want to get a HID bulb that matches them, I upgraded to the plasma because I did not like the lower freq. of the OEM DRL's but not they are brighter and higher freq. than the HID's now LOL

Are these brighter than the stock one's or is the only benefit of these is to have a different color. $169 seams to be a pretty step price to to change the color.

They're brighter, more light output.

does anyone know how to change the color of the Halos to match the color of these bulbs?

it would look weird to have the main head light look brighter then the halos?

Hmm...I may be really interested in these bulbs..I drive thru the country on my way to work..and I mean country as shit...I would really like some brighter lights...how much brighter are these...I know that's a very subjective question as everyones opinion is different but is it almost like driving with your high beams on all the time? Is the brightness worth the money?
