No power to dome light, airbag, horn, and onstar after installing radio...HELP!!!

I recently had a shop install a Kenwood DNX 9960 with the metra dash kit and neither they or I can figure out what is going on. A few days after it was installed I noticed the dome light wouldn't turn on (on any setting), the airbag light doesn't turn on (I think the airbag isn't getting power), onstar has no power, and my horn will not work when I press it (but it will sound when I lock my doors with the remote). We checked all the connections, wires and fuses and they all seem to be allright.

Does anyone have any clues as to what might be the problem? Metra said they don't have any clue either!

Oh, and I no longer have the factory radio either....This really sucks!

just a guess though. possibly a bad module with the metra... though I didnt think the dome light or airbag went through the radio.

My audio guy has been researching this problem and we still haven't been able to get it fixed. Hopefully replacing the Metra kit with a different one fixes it, but he has been hearing that it may be an ECU issue. Does anyone know if this is correct. I'm moving here in 15 days and I really need to get this stuff fixed prior to moving.

Wow, almost a month later and finally got this problem fixed. There was a ground wire shorting out in the wiring behind the stereo. Luckily my service advisor at the dealership hooked me up and made this a warranty claim....But now I have an all new problem. There is a humming/buzzing sound coming fromt he metra kit. If I press on the top of it it sounds like there is a fan/motor that it presses against and slows it down....god this is annoying me. Radio looks great...but not sure if it's worth all these issues. (not to mention my phone doesn't work with it damn new samsung Galaxy 4g)!

the phone issue is something that can be fixed with a firmware update containing the new bluetooth SDK. I think there are a lot of folks that get the newest/latest/greatest but dont realize that in doing so, you run the risk of outpacing the accessories manufacturers ability to design, integrate and implement solutions for the new hardware.

the fan-sound is a whole new issue altogether. I never ran into anything like that with my metra install... and I have to admit that more than once, I was certain there was no chance I could possibly get that insane install done correctly.

Found the noise issue. There was a tab that got bent down on the top of the metra kit by the dealership that was contacting the cooling fan for my kenwood. Bent it up and now everything works like a dream...except my stupid phone is a POS..Top quality phone through T-mobile still = an expensive paperweight. Found out that my phone/bluetooth issue is the phone not the unit. Stupid phone freezes up and won't work correctly thus causing the pairing issue...oh well at least I have a working car and radio.
