Why are Tires so Dam Big?

18 or 19" is plenty big imho. I remember when 14 and 15" was the standard and they rolled as good as any. Now we have 20, 22, 24's and bigger. Why do we need to go past 19"? When they start getting real big it just looks silly and takes away from the car. I ws looking at a 69 camaro with 14 or 15 stock rims and it looked really nice seeing more rubber than steel.

I love my stock 20's. I think they're the perfect size for this car.

Probably because 14's would look really bad with the way cars are proportioned today.

I love the way the 20's look on this car, times change, things change. Phones get smaller tires get bigger.

Big wheels mean lower profile tires mean stiffer sidewalls and better handling

Smile

I liked my stock 20's, but I just added the GM 21" wheels and I think they look better, but that's obvious that I think so, since I just bought the wheels.

Have to say I am really happy with my staggered Midnight Silver rims, look really good on the car. The only thing I would change is maybe the offset on the front. Looks like it could do with an extra 25mm or so just to pull it even with the fender.
