Installed the MRT 2.0 today

Before I give my two cents about this exhaust let me just say that I probably would be happy with any of them except a muffler delete. Over the last month or so I listened to all of the clips and really couldn’t decide. Then I got a hold of my daughters iPOD ear buds and listened again. What a difference! The deep tones were now there for the most part. The clip that made me pull the trigger on the 2.0 was the solo run down the dragstrip by the orange Camaro.
(scroll ahead to 2:24) Plus MRT is a Detroit area company. I’m from the Cleveland area and our cities are both in similar situations so I wanted to keep my money close to home. The install took about an hour or so. I had it on ramps and used a sawsall to get the stock ones off. It took a bit of work to get the stock pipes out of the hangers but once you get one out the other comes out easy. I then retraced my steps and installed the MRT’s. Most of the time was then spent getting the tips lined up and centered so they matched. Once I did that I tightened the clamps and started it up. It’s true, the sound clips don’t do it justice. It’s rich and deep and powerful sounding. Inside the car, at idle, you barely hear it. Underway there’s a nice deep tone while going through the gears. It sounds excellent, way better than I thought it would be. I then got on the freeway and jumped on it. The sound inside while under hard acceleration made the hair stand up on the back of my neck. I backed down to 60 or so and no drone to speak of. You still hear it but it sounds nice. Really nice. I then downshifted to third and got on it. That sounded great too. With these exhausts I can see my mileage going to hell because my driving style will change just so I can listen to them. When I got home I took my wife for a ride and she really liked them too. (She has a Genesis 3.8 and her stock exhausts are pretty sporty) I did have a small issue that was my fault. Since I’m always afraid to over tighten things I didn’t really crank on the clamps and on my first test drive one moved a little. So I got back under there and really tightened it down (it can take it) and went on the same route again. No movement this time. I’m really happy with the MRT 2.0s. I thought that when I installed my Barton shifter my car was transformed, but the exhaust takes it to a whole new level for me. Get them if you can. You won't be disappointed.

That would be my Camaro and was filmed by Scrming last year when we were at Lapeer Dragway.

Glad to see you found the MRT's to your satisfaction.

For others to hear what you are talking about here are my 4 videos that I have posted a few times on this forum.

This is the sound many people have found to be the best sounding exhaust for the 3.6 L Camaro.

I have had many members on this and other Forums say this is one of the best sounding systems they have heard and by far the best sounding MRT 2.0 system.

Take a listen for yourself. Listen to these thru some headphones or ear buds.

Here is a few videos for you:

This one is from inside my Camaro on the way to the dragstrip.

This one is from inside my Camaro while at the dragstrip. Sorry about the Camera tipping.

This one is one that SCRMNG filmed for me while we were at the dragstrip. the last 30 seconds is me on a single pass.

This last clip is one that danrc28 put together when visiting me to her a MRT 2.0 system. He went from Toronto to Florida and back stopping along the way picking up sound bytes. The video starts off with outside rev's, then an on ramp full throttle run, then an acceleration run from inside while talking about drone. Tape finishes with me passing the camera on the highway doing 3rd gear runs. Which has not been recorded by anyone else using the MRT (or at least I am not aware of anyone with this type of recording.) (rcat's)

I've had mine installed for about a month now and I can't help but turn down the music and roll down the windows to enjoy it.
