Crystal Red Tintcoat question
So I love my Crimson-colored Grand Prix GXP, and I really wish I could get a Camaro in this color. I've been seeing that there will be a new Crystal Red Tintcoat coming out. Will that be anything closer to crimson than the current Red Jewel or Victory Red? I asked a car sales guy at the dealership where I bought my Grand Prix, which doesn't sell Chevy anymore, and he acted like he didn't know what the color red was, let alone Crystal Red.
I'm guessing I'll be sticking with the Victory Red plan, but just wondering about this Crystal Red. |

Just go to a Cadillac dealer and look for a CTS with the Crystal Red Tintcoat. Caddy has used this color for a couple of years or so and it looks great.

This is also a newer Corvette color. It is very, very nice.

Its a beautiful color. It really sings when the sun hits it. Very rich. I personally have never been a fan of red cars, but THIS RED I would order without a doubt!!!

Also a color on SS cobalts as well i think 2010 only though and before that was sport tint redcoat or somethin like that but was a lil darker than the crystal red tint coat

This color really does look great. I had no plans to get a red camaro, but this color may change that.

My father has a CTS in this color. Great color, but it is indeed lighter than RJT.

my wifes HHR is this color...it is awesome! not as dark as the Red Jewel Tintcoat it replaces but a very nice color!

I just ordered a new 2012 SS/RS Convertible and I noticed Red Jewel Tintcoat isn't available for 2012. I asked the sales guy why. He said that the tsunami in Japan wiped out the plant that made Red Jewel and it's not going to be available anymore. I asked about body shops that need the color for repairs. He said there would be a certain amout of stock for that, and that you could still get touch up paint. But, I would be a little worried about keeping a RJT for too many years in the future.
I suppose Crystal Red will be the eventual replacement on the new 2012s. |
