Best tool/software for tuning a Camaro 2011

Hi All,

I have done a Roto-fab CAI, ARH Headers and Borla catback to my camaro. I am ready to tune it. What is the best tool/software out there to tune. I am looking to tune it myself so I am not really looking for a tool that just downloads pre defined calibrations into the new software as I want to be able to change them accordingly to the performance i want out the vehicle.

I have heard of HP tuner, EFI live. Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

I use hptuners but I have heard EFI live is better for the pros. So far other than a few glitches which HPtuners will have cleared up in their next release I don't have a problem and it's pretty easy to use.

HP Tuners and EFI seem to be the two favorites. Everyone in the bay area uses HP Tuners though.

HPTuners is the software I use for tuning everything I tune...their licensing structure seems to be a little easier for a guy like me (tuning cars randomly every few weeks) to work with than EFILive.

That said...there have certainly been times where I've said "man I wish I had EFILive" for really specific things most people wouldn't want/need...either package is capable of letting you tune the car, I have had zero issues with actual ability to tune the E38 with HPTuners, other than the bug with the Camaro's where you have to pull the battery cable for a few seconds after you flash the car or it's almost impossible to start the engine. I asked Bill from HPTuners about that today, and he said they haven't made any progress on that bug yet as they don't know whats causing it...but it's not the end of the world...just keep a small ratchet with you while you tune the car and spend 10 seconds after a flash letting it all reset.

That's strange? Do you have the latest Beta?
I have not had that problem since the early Beta programs.
I may not tune as much as some of you but I have done 6 diff 2010 Camaro's and not had to do the battery disconnect on any of them.

E-mail HPTuners support about it...I have the latest beta that was available as of yesterday 3 hours before I tuned the truck. I usually update every week or 2. It seems that there are some cars that aren't affected by it, but the majority of the 2010/2011 LS3 and L99 SS's are.

This thread http://www.hptuners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=33206 starts off about a G8 issue, but if you read through it, you'll see a lot of info about the hard start problem in the Camaro's.
