Thumbs down ACE CUSTOM STEERING, slow customer service

Well here's my review on ACE Custom Steering. I don't have my wheel yet, nor can I get ahold of ACE regarding it.

Product: Great Feel, quality of materials is very good, and overall decent fit and finish although some minor blemishes. Steering wheel bezel on one side doesn't sit flush and pops out. This is what I observed on a friend's steering wheel, not my own.

Customer Service: Fair, IF you are able to get ahold of them. I've been dealing with Carlos (the rep who posts on these forums), and via a telephone conversation I started a group buy for some of his company's steering wheels. These were ordered with the gaurantee that the wheels would be done before and installed at Camaro5Fest II. The groupbuy was a success with 5+ orders being placed. Some of the wheels were shipped early to the customer who wanted to install them theirselves, but only one or two of the wheels made it to the fest to be installed.

I know of at least 3 wheels including my own that didn't make it to the fest. Carlos was very apologetic about it, and I understand that there was nothing he could do about it at that time since it the shipping company only was able to deliver 1 or 3 boxes for some reason.

Since the steering wheel was going to be installed free of charge at the fest (as the promotion foretold), Carlos offered to reimburse the few of us that didn't receive our wheels for the installation at our local shop.

I wasn't happy with this at all approach as it didn't offer us any consolation since both ElManny and myself had our display stands out showing that we had the ACE steering wheel as a modification already. Since Camaro5Fest have called Carlos several times a week, left 2 voicemails per week, and sent multiple pm's and e-mails asking about what was happening with our steering wheels. I get a single text message last week not answering a single one of my questions and asking me a question of Carlos'. I respond within 5 minutes of the text, and haven't heard back since.

I feel taken advantage of, as I helped sell a handful of these products and I can't even get a response without calling/e-mailing/texting/pm'ing numerous times.

TL : DR They didn't deliver a product after the promise of a deadline, nothing offered aside from paying for installation somewhere else. Installation was going to be free already since it was a C5FII promotion.

Carlos doesn't respond more than than 2 times in almost 2 months. I've called at least 3 times a week, texted 2 times a week, e-mailed every other week, and pm'ed him twice since the fest. I have receive 1 text message, and maybe one e-mail response which didn't answer a single question.

Everyone has been assisted and their wheels shipped out. Only two orders that Carlos took still remain and one of them the gentleman that ordered has not let Ace know for sure what colors that they want so Ace can not build it yet and the other is Mindz, just because he has special deal that he negotiated with Ace on and there is some disagreements from both sides over it so I am trying to help them work that out. Everyone else is set. WiccaJew if you order your wheel through me you will be taken very good care of, anyone that has ordered will be able to tell you the same. Let me know what you are looking for and I'll help you get it setup.

Hi, I ordered mine almost 2 weeks ago, In my experience, Carlos has always responded my calls. On the last call, according to him, my steering will ship early this week. I'll keep the forum posted for updates.

Sparks has really taken the initiative trying to get this thing resolved. So far everyone has been taken care of aside from two. One person was supposed to have received a color sample so that he could choose the colors for his wheel before it's built, and my own wheel which I really have to tip my hat to SparksAI. We're working through this and hopefully will have the situation resolved soon.

Mindz, the only reason I purchased my "ACE" wheel was because of "YOUR" group buy you set-up.

I paid $550 for my wheel, and the alcantra (red) appearance is more of 7 out 10. It has several ripples in the alcantra...

I second that. They took the time out to contact me and get this thing resolved. They even sent me the tracking info for my wheel (it should be here sometime Tuesday).

I sent a PM to Carlos on here, as well as a message on facebook, and even e-mailed him directly about what's going on and haven't heard a response through any of those venues, still.

The ACE Steering Wheel is a very nice product. But the lesson here has been, order it through Sparks.

I met the guys at the fest and they both seem like nice guys and after I got back from the Fest, I sent the ACE a few PM's wanting to order my steering wheel with NO Response. I guess they don't want to sell them. I guess I will keep looking and purchase from someone that wants my business.. Good luck with everyone that wants one !!
