Update on Mod that improved mpg's drastically!

I posted a thread a couple days ago about how I added a second cone to my intake without a battery disconnect. I was seeing 35 mpg at 55 and 31 mpg at 70. With normal cai I saw 22-24 mpg at 73, 25-27 mpg at 70 and 30ish at 55 mph. NOW AFTER battery pull! 38 mpg at 60! 41 at 55 and get this...33mpg at 73 mph! I tested each speed for about 15 miles. Hopefully it stays this way since I have 114 mile commute every day! :(

If this actually works, you should post a "How-To" video or step by step instructions.

All I did for the cai is use the stock tube all the way from the throttle body up to including the maf sensor housing. I cut the stock box off there. Then just added cheap pep boys tubing. The two cones are connected by a Y pipe. I had just one cone for a year up until last week. Had a heat shield too but wouldn't fit with the two cone set up

Other than the intake, resonator delete and 40 series flowmasters; everything dealing with performance is stock. Oh hurt short this but that doesn't count

I'd been thinking of getting a CAI kit, with a heat shield but now...

Pretty interesting, I'd like to see someone in a SS try this.

That's what I was thinking; wait 'til it's been run a while and check back. :p I can still get a CAI kit and if the dual intake thing is as good in a few thousand miles as it is at first, I can add the second intake.

Check your fuel trims, I'm sure your screwing up the MAF reading. Go by how much gas in a the tank and how many miles you went......... at the end of your tank
