car show bs

this post is not to complain about a show...but to defend a dear friend who went to one....

he wasnt sure about sharing.....but as his friend...i feel like people have a right to know for future reference

charlie received a PM from a member who has his head so far up his ass its redonkulous

i thought this kinda attitude was reserved for the Vette guys...but we are sorely mistaken it appears....heres a exerpt:

"Please don't put anything on my windshield ever again....i didnt touch your car...im sure you wouldnt have appreciated me or someone i knew leaning on your car to place a card for a website you already know about under your wiper..."

where do i begin?

every 5th gen owner ive ever met...takes care of there car like its a newborn child....and respects other 5th gen owners by treating their cars the same way....

placing camaro5.com cards is what we do at shows when we see fellow 5th gens....it is impossible...IMPOSSIBLE to know if a fellow 5th gen owner knows about the site or not (ive met a few already this year that didnt) unless their car is decorated with our decals....so this fellow has no right to bitch about that

ive gone to many shows with charlie and his family...they all have the upmost respect for every vehicle attending the show....including his daughter...so i respectfully challenge the accusation that charlies daughter leaned on anything...shes not 5....she knows not to lean...so again...no right to bitch...since thats pretty much heresay...the guy didnt actually say he saw her do anything...

honestly dude...whoever u are...you need a swift kick in the ass....

i let charlie and his family touch my car...because he knows just as much about it as i do...if not more....and his family has the upmost respect for beauty and worksmanship

if i didnt let him touch my car...i wouldnt have half the mods i do....hes helped me a lot

i guess you better keep ur car a garage queen...do all your own work...and never drive it if you dont want people other than you touching it....get off your damn high-horse and sit with the rest of us cool cats

remember...cool is the rule....and this kind of attitude is not what New England Camaro5 is about

My question on this is -- they why bring it to a car show?

NO, I don't want stupid people near my car touching it or rubbing passed it - hell I don't even like people parking next to me OR stopping behind me without 400 feet of space (we all know why ). B

BUT - Why bother going to a car show if you don't want anyone to breathe near your car? Camaro 5 owners are less likely to hurt your car or disrespect it then some schmuck oogling you car with his giant belt buckle scraping along the side

Hi - sorry - but this is not logical at all

Can I say - as someone who's car has been tapped one to many times -- I'm all for it being HIM next time instead of me....

(but I refuse to hand over the pity cone)

Lets not start going after people now, or wishing harm to other's rides. Some people may not like their car being touched (i've seen many in this (note not new england) forum), so lets try to be a little more understanding and maybe do a little "sorry I didn't know" or w/e.

PS. No I'm not THAT guy, just don't want to see any heated arguements if said guy was to show up. Just trying to keep some peace in here .

This is too bad. If this member is already on this site, then he should know how we roll, when we roll to shows, and even who Charlie is...WE HAVE A THREAD DEDICATED TOTALLY TO HIM, and many of us have chimed in on that already.

If you are a member here on Camaro5.com, mystery rider, know that we do indeed have the utmost respect for our cars and for the cars of others! The reason we would put those cards on windshields is to promote our club, because as you probably don't already know, we are a great group that travels in a pack, and we are always looking to make it bigger. And, as others have already pointed out, Charlie's daughter shows huge respect for cars, because she's been brought up to have that respect (something I'm working on with my daughter too ).

It's too bad things started off this way. We would obviously like to have met you under better circumstances. Of course, I have a feeling that you may not be very active on this board, or you would know these things by now...a shame really...but, maybe going forward, we can all take a deep breath and calm down and play nice.

Unbelievable, people who go to car shows should know that the people putting flyers or website cards on there cards are not thereto hurt their cars but to let you know whats going on and what websites are out there. I agree with 600lpe what a douche!

Was there any damage done? If not then no biggie..maybe this owner needs to put a big sign 'NO TOUCH' or velvet rope their car off..some people are just more sensitive than others, about their pride & joy. You can't knock 'em for that....

I will say one thing, you never know what is going on in some one elses life. It could have been a bad day compounded by lifes other "problems". If this the first offense I would let it slide, but if it becomes a repetitive action by whoever, then that's not acceptable.

Maybe this episode can be patched up and forgotten.

Yes it was! It was you!

Well - now, I think we all agree -- no one wants anything to happen to his/her car -- I am the FIRST to admit I get PIIIIIIISSED when people park next to me and there are other spots (esp when I am the ONLY one in the friggen lot - park elsewhere) - hell right now I'm paranoid thinking about my car alone in teh parking lot -- and I WOULD put up velvet ropes if I had any b/c I am THAT much of an asshole when it comes to my car ---- (Hi, my name is Tessa and I am a raging psycho over my car)

And I'm fully aware that if I did that to anyone else's car they'd feel the same.

So I get this guy's over protective nature 100% -- HOWEVER -- the point is - you have to have SOME sense to realize that another member is probably not who you should be worried about disrespecting your car -- unlike ALL the other REGULAR people and KIDS at a CAR SHOW who do not "get it". You know?

But I agree with Paul -- perhaps he just got his tampon in a twist that day
All you ladies are guilty of it. -- no for real, for real -- we all have "days" so maybe he over reacted. Silly, but it happens. And we are getting gripey over it b/c we all know & love Charlie.

Point it - it was not cool but we don't know this guy - could have been a bad day, could be he's just not a nice person

The part that bothers me is I never removed the pm from my history and Jill read it. Yes we (Jill and I)share the club name chevy3. She reads posts and such and this One made her crie hell shes only 13. I had to let her know that NO she did nothing wrongand yea this guy is a tool. Normally I wouldn't start the name calling but this is my daughter how I hunt with hike with and go to car shows with. If you have to end a post or pm with I don't mean to be insulting then you did. We have one hell of a c5 family here and I'm proud to call you all my friends. I told Jill it's still ok to get excited when you see 5th gens and we will continyou to put the two by three cards on camaros. (she likes that)
