SCT Programmer - Can't get by security

I have been trying to get by the "ECU" security to upload my stock tune with the SCT, but everything we have tried has failed. We have removed the battery cables, BCM fuses, Radio fuse, 3 different SCT tuners. I have even taken the car to two different dealers to get the ECU reflashed, but the reflash will not get completed because the Dealers computer will not flash it if there are no upgrades to be done to the ECU.

SCT has offered for me to send them the ECU and they have software to try and break the security, but it would mean no car for a couple weeks.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Todd

Don't you have to use the SCT tuner originally used to tune the car and pull the stock tune out with? If that's the case, this would explain the 3 other tuners not working. And is it the actual file pulled from YOUR car? Because the VIN is part of the tune file, and if it doesn't match, this could be why.

Waiting for Timeout on Security"

Yes - I am trying to upload the stock original tune from the factory into the SCT. It just sits there displaying "Waiting for Timeout on Security" and I can never upload the stock tune. I have tried to upload the stock tune to 3 different SCT tuners, but always have the same result.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and how they got around it.

Thank you,
Todd

Have you had anyone mess with your ECU or currently have a tune in your ECU? If so, the other tune may have your ECU locked...

Happened to people with the SCT tuner and get Error: 1019

Doesn't make sense.

The dealer should be able to flash your ecu wether it needs an upgrade or not.

Not if it was locked by changing the Key.

Well I took it back to the dealer today and they tried it again. After further investigation, they feel the ECU was locked by another tuner. They get an error when half way through the re-flash. They said something about the stock GM programming having different digits where this one ends in FFFF. They would need to have GM dial in to their Diagnostic equipment to fix it and this could take up to 2 hours on my dime. They also said I would need to install the stock Cold Air intake. I have an after market one currently installed.

Any other suggestions??

I get that, but what I meant is that it doesn't make sense that the dealer said they can't flash it if they don't have any upgrades.

What they should have said is they can't because it has been modified.

I bought it from a co-work. He swears he never had it tuned. He bought it new from a dealer in Illinois. It is one of the very first 2010 Camaros.

Sounds like the ECM has a 'Custom OS' from another tuner.

My Dad has his 2010 L99 flashed back to stock by the dealer and they charged him a fee. Took bought 2 hours. Something was up with the transmission, had a tune in it and Hutter check and they could not get into it as it was locked, said for him to take to the dealer.
