******** - Stealth Kit Missing Resistor - Need Info

Hi All,

Need some help from the community. I just received this past week my ******** Stealth Kit, which comes with the X2 and X3 wiring harness, Eclipse 12" Sub, enclosure, and Eclipse 5 channel amp.

See: http://********.com/Chevrolet-GMC-Su...New-clone.html

In the kit, there's a bag with a resistor, length of ground wire, and a crimp on ring. I've read the instructions they provided, and know what I need to do, but my kit did NOT come with the resistor. Pretty simple mistake to make, I'm sure.

I'm already 2/3rds through the install, and just found the baggie didn't have the resistor in it. Can someone please let me know what the Ohm value of the resistor is so I can go to RadioShack and get one? ******** is close on weekends. Sent them an email earlier, but no response yet (Again, not mad or anything, they've been great!).

Please feel free to PM me the Ohm value, and post in this thread that you sent it.

Thanks,

Ron

From what I understand, the resistor is only needed if you are totally removing the BA amplifier from the equation. There should be a link in the bag you received that explains the use of the resistor, but the link I used was taken down as someone had posted the link publicly, so I don't know how much info ******** wants us to share in relation to this resistor. I'll PM you what I know. If you could PM me the colors of the stripes on the resistor you have, that would really help me out.

Small Update: Still looking for what the Ohm measurement on the resistor in the kit is.

I've finished the install without the resistor in place, with complete removal of the old BA amp, and the system is working just fine. Had some engine whine until I moved the audio and power cables around some, and need to finalize the positioning of the wires, but other than that, the upgraded sound is AWESOME! Finally got the lows this car has been missing since day 1.

I guess I'll have to wait until Monday for a response from ******** about the Ohm value of the resistor and then go back and add it.

Did you ever figure out which resistor was needed? Mine is missing too and I'm ready to install everything!

I unfortunately cannot tell you the value of the resistor. I just finished my ******** install and covered the resistor with shrink wrap when I soldered it.

I did not notice a difference when I had it grounded vs not grounded though for what it is worth. I'm sure it does something I just couldn't tell in my limited testing.

typically it is not needed at all. Mostly if you run an aftermarket radio. During our tests, I had a pioneer deck and needed the resistor. But on the stock deck it may or may not be required.

Also removed my BA amp totally and all still seems to be working properly. I was going nuts trying to find info on resistor and tried it without. And whatta you know, you dont even need it.

You don't need the resistor.
