Stock air scop problems, deteriorating

So today was under the hood of the 2010 L99, Has a Airraid CAI with the stock scoop and seen black sponge like material on over the filter and took the filter off and was all underneath in the air box as well. Started looking around and the front of the scoop is deteriorating very baddly. Should that be covered under warranty or will they say the CAI caused it to fail? How much do they cost if not covered. Thank you!

Are you talking about the foam seal at the air intake to radiator support? Kinda hard to decipher what you are saying above...

If it's the seal you're talking about, it shouldn't be disintegrating.

yes that's the seal. It is coming apart and was all in the filter and the air box. Put it in a zip loc to show them. Looked and the materiel is coming off the inlet pretty good.

Hell, it looks like the tube just goes right by the light. We are just going to remove the tube. Hows that sound?
