New Guy with question about 2012 FE4 Suspension

Hello everyone, first post. I've done a lot of reading and research here for my next purchase. Great site with tons of information. Even though I've been a devoted GM guy all of my adult life, owning numerous Firebirds, Camaros, Corvettes, GTOs, etc, right now I'm in a toss up between a new Camaro and a new Mustang. Never owned a Ford before, but both cars are strong performers. Performance is my number one consideration, not whether a car can bluetooth with my iPhone or navigate me to a nice resturaunt.

Daily driving with some weekend autox duty in stock class is how I will use the car. Therefore, I'm very interested in getting the best handling car possible. Lots of great info here about the ZL1, but not interested in spending $50k on a Camaro (or a GT500 for that matter) when a Corvette Grand Sport could be had for not much more money.

Sorry for the babble, and on to the question: Is the FE4 suspension going to be an option or standard on the 2012 SS coupe? Will the coupe standard suspension still be FE3 with FE4 as an option, or will the FE4 replace the FE3 suspension as the coupe standard?

I know the Camaro will have the weight disadvantage even with the new suspension, but I'm wondering if the improvements will put the cars on a more level playing field handling-wise.

I believe fe4 is replacing fe3.

I would have to imagine you will see the shootouts between the 2012 Mustang vs Camaro's very soon. I would wait to hear from Motor Trend and similar before doing anything if best performer is you ultimate goal.
