Finally, E85 tune is in!!!

UPDATE: 6/9

E85 on our LLT will work with the required 30-40% more fuel flow via tweaking the injector timing and fuel rail pressure. This is the benefit of having DI No need for us to worry about bigger fuel pump or bigger fuel injectors, at least for now.

When I first wrote this e85 progress I was too stuck on timing, but I had to realize quick that timing is only good until certain point. Even if we can push extra 20* of timing without seeing knock it wont mean anything. Overtiming will actually decrease power and possibly lead to engine damage.

Alot of the turbo guys will push extra timing and turn up the boost on e85 seeing HUGE gains! but not with N/A. Unless N/A has high static compression to take advantage of e85's high octane, N/A's are usually left with little gain when changing to e85, but don't give up hope, at least not yet

Lucky for us we have something to work with, valve timing, cam phasing, VVT, and not to forget we have vince@trifecta

Until everything is finalized I wont go into too much detail since I have no idea what will change in between the testing phase, and what will be the final result, but as of right now it look like the most noticeable increase in gain is coming from playing with effective compression and valve timing.
With e85's knock proof nature, vince is able to increase cylinder pressure at certain rpm effectively taking advantage of 105+ octane of e85 without even having to rely on too much timing but again, all that can change once on the dyno.

Stay tuned!

Thankyou for diving into this for us!!! I have wanted to do this since I bought the car but don't have the time or funds to spend any extra cash and time working out any details. Thank you again and if all works out the tune will be my next investment!!!!

What is it your looking for using E85? It looks to be less efficient across the board in tests.

-Cheaper for starters about 60cents per gallon. In my area

-Properly tuned you can build more power on e85 especialy for the FI guys due to higher octane rating and cooling effect when it is atomized.

Even though I probably won't go this route, I wanted to say thank you for contributing your time, energy, and Camaro towards making the V6 all it can be.
