2011 1ss rs Price questions (good deal?)

I'm looking to purchase a new 2011 Camaro 1ss rs. The dealer quoted me $31,700 over the phone. The car is auto, and has cloth seats. He did tell me it has been on the lot for almost a year and they want to move it. I'm just wondering if the price is good, or if they have room to come down more. I'm in no hurry to buy, but if this was a good deal I'd jump on it. I've purchase a few cars from this dealer before, and I think they have always treated me fairly. I'm going to look at the car today. Any info would be great.

Thanks

If they are really pushing to move it just throw them a low ball offer to see how much more you can save.

That is kind of what I was thinking. I know I can get another $1K off with my GM credit card. I just don't know if I should wait a few more weeks to see if GM puts some additional cash on the market, and I still have to play the trade in game with the dealer.

I have a 2011 1SS with the M6 transmission the only options I have on the car are Polished wheels and the BA stereo.. The car listed for 32,760

I got a 1000 rebate for past GM owner and the dealership sold me the car at 500 below invoice..

Mine does not have the RS package so that does not sound like a bad price. Go to yahoo autos and you can build the car on there and it will show you the invoice price of the exact car.

Ok. Here is an update. We got are really bad hail storm and it damaged the car i was going to trade in. The insurance adjuster is coming Tuesday to tally the damage, so now I'm not sure when or if I will get the Camaro. I should know more tomorrow.

jbob1981, I rechecked that MSRP for you and I found that in my information a completely stock 1SS 2011 Camaro has an MSRP of $31,070. That price doesn't include the destination price or any dealer fees, optional equipment (that comes later) or taxes, title fees, or registration fees. The RS package has an MSRP of $1,300. These prices are effective as of May 2nd. I would speak to the sales person you were working with about the offers that you mentioned earlier to see if they would be applicable in this situation. I hope this information helps you.
