******** amp replacement harness

Ordered last week on Tuesday night, had it in hand on Friday. Installed Friday night. Easy to install, and all I can say is WOW. What a difference an amp makes. All stock Boston speakers and upgraded to a Kenwood 8405 amp. I'd recommend this upgrade to anyone. Best bang for the buck yet on upgrades. Thanks to Steve@********.

Yes, In our opinion it's better than a lot of those over priced performance mods. ie spending 400 bux on a bent tube with a filter at the end to gain a few hp. The difference with our kit is very noticible and enjoyable.

Steve,
I too have purchased a kit from you, but this was a while back. I have found myself in a situation and I hope for an easy solution. I was one of the first to buy when the amp replacement kit came out and thus didn't read some of the issues others had with a digital amp. I purchased a digital amp. Its a Kenwood, and I absolutely love it. I also run a Kicker L7. Here is where my understanding of ground loops goes out the window; however, that is the issue I had. My solution was to run the entire car (not subs) off of the front rca's and run the subs off of the rear rca's. The sound is AMAZING. I couldn't be happier with your product or the sound. BUT in doing this, I have lost my rear back-up sensors because the low pass set for the subs. My IDEAL solution would be to splice a wire in the harness which would bring just the back-ups into the front rca's. Is this possible? I have a feeling if the answer to that is no your next suggestion would be to use a ground loop tool that removes it. I spent a good penny and it still had a very distinct rev noise. The way its wired now I love and sounds flawless, I was just hoping to get my rear noise back. It helps when backing into the garage. If the wire splice is possible and you don't want to share with the world, feel free to PM me.

THANKS

Ground loops and interference are two different things. We have noticed that digital amps seem to be worse at picking up interference or causing interference with the am/fm antennas in the back glass.

Why would you do that??? The rear speakers need to be wired to the rear channels. That's the only way the backup sensors are gonna work.

Rev noise has many sources. One of which could be the amp. A ground loop isolator will likely not remove it as those are made to remove dc voltage only. You may need a noise filter or check grounds or try a different amp.

I'm using a Kenwood amp, and had a very faint ignition noise. I added filters on the RCAs, and the noise is gone.

I love the amp and the set-up and the sound. I was looking at the harness and I seen that there were wires merged together. I can't split my rear because that's where the ground loop comes in. All I was hoping is that one wire carried rear channel sound and the other the backup sensor. So we are on the same page. The backup sensor noise and the rear channel are blended in the radio and not in the amp? Thanks for the feedback

On the boston, there are 4 inputs. That's it. 2 front and 2 rear. The amp splits them out into the 9 different speakers. The backup sensor sound comes from the radio (rear channels). When the signal gets to the amp, the amp filters it to the tweeters in the rear speakers.

When you use our kit, the input signal is still the same. Everything goes to your new amp as before and the backup sensor sound still gets sent to the rear speakers. But only the midrange portion of the stock speaker is being used. But it will still play the signal if you have your amp settings to allow some of the highs to get thru. I guess I don't understand the " can't split my rear because that's where the ground loop comes in" part because I wouldn't think the front channels would act any differently than the rears.

You can actually wire this car without an amp. It's just that the amp creates extra outputs for those other speakers. In other words I could take my x3 harness and wire it direct to the x2 harness and plug it into the stock harness and get at least 6 speakers to work and not even have an amp at all. So along those lines, you could hard wire a rear input directly to one of the speakers to get the singals--wether it's a rear speaker or center speaker or whatever.

I'm sorry I'm being vague. Your kit provides 4 RCA two front and two read. I use the two front to power all car speakers. With this I can't fade but I do have balance. I use my fronts because fronts carry hands free and turn signals and those are more important to me. What I mean by rear split is that the two go to the sub but if I y off them I get the ground loop. What I was hoping was that (for example) there were a green and a white joined together in the harness where green was back up sensors and white was audio. So I could just cut green and splice it into the front wires. It's not a big deal just was hoping for an easy solution. Thanks for your responses.

Have you tried using inline filters to eliminate the ground loop so you can y of and use the rears?

Yes that was my first thought. I paid like 60 but don't recall the name. It took out the really loud annoying rev noise but on low volume It still whined enough to annoy. The amp was 350ish and has great amazing crisp sound the way it's setup now. I don't see an easy fix so I'll just be happy with it the way it is.
