Clay bar, polish, then wax, then pics

I cleaned my car and will give you my two cents.

Clay Bar- (Mothers) I did not get much out of clay bar. Seemed like it did not do too much. Would not do it again on a newer car. Not worth the money and time.

Polish- (Mcguires polish) Never polished a vehicle before. I think it helped with the mirror shine. Rule is to not let it dry and wipe if off quickly.

Wax- (Mothers) I only use mothers pure carnuba wax. I learned that good quality microfiber towels are a lot better than the cheap ones. Although I usually use old Hanes white t-shirts for most everything.

I never had a vehicle mirror shine like my camaro. My truck is black and never looked this good. I guess polishing helps a lot. Anybody have any tips that I should try next time?

Tip for rims. I bought mothers rim polish. Don't waste your money. Just wax them with the mothers pure carnuba wax. I like it a lot better.

Very nice, I wish I had the time to take car of my car like that. Between kids and work and wife, no chance. Oh yeah and 115 degree weather doesn't help. Lol

If the car is brand new and has never had rail dust or fallout or tree sap on it I could see how the claybar may not help that much. But on both of my GTOs that were built in Australia and traveled by rail across the US. Claybarring made my cars look like nothing I had seen. Both my '04 and '06 are silver and there was so much crap imbedded in the paint that I needed 2 clay bars and 8-12 hours. My claybars got so full of stuff that they were scratching the paint.
Claybar is definitely one of the best appearance mods I have ever done.

Looks good. However,I think the Clay bar works well to get the imbeded debris out of the paint before you polish and wax over it.
