New LS owner, looking to upgrade to have fog lights

Hey guys, new member here.

Just picked up my new '11 1LS yesterday, i have previously owned a '92 RS and an '85 and '87 Corvette.

I didnt realize the 1LS just had little plugs where the fog lights go, is there an easy aftermarket or GM part to just throw em in and install em? Are there any extra buttons i'd need to put in or custom wiring i'd have to do or just plug it right in somewhere?

Thanks so much in advance!

-Dan

My little girl's first words after seeing it.. "OOOOOH My new car! Thanks daddy!!"

Your little girl is so cute!

Sorry I have no knowledge regarding your situation but I had to say that.

I ordered mine from GM Parts Direct, I just wired 'em to the parking lights on the sides though, I only wanted 'em to come on at night anyway.

PM sent

Future MDPilot - Thanks so much!

ga0358 - Thanks for the PM, exactly what i'm looking for. Is there any option to just plug em in somewhere or do i HAVE to wire em into the parking lights? I'd prefer not to go muckin around cutting wires just yet (since its under 24 hours owning the car)

I have a 2010 Ls and got my fogs from BF Xenon, a sponsor on this site. The 2010's don't have any plugs, as you refered to, you have to wire it up yourself. It took a couple hours but they look good. They are HID, as well. Check out some of the past comments on the site about installing them. Good luck!

Y'all mind sharing what the part number is for the fog lights? I'm looking for the same thing and GM Parts Direct only allows search by part number. Thanks in advance.

Dan, CONGRATS and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's and wive's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Welcome to C5 & congrats. I don't have part #, sorry. You could wire lights with a switch. Use battery post under hood & ground to frame. There is a rubber gromit you can run wires thru with small incision under steering wheel at firewall. This way you can turn on when you want them on.
Other option is parking light tie in, or to head lights. Best bet would be to find other Camaro owners in your area or local club. We have tech days to meet and work on mods. They could show you 1st hand and help install / wire. Post pics when done.
