Ok boys and gals...

It's starting- dealers are getting creative...

NOTE THAT MY POSITION ON WHAT IS BELOW IS

These are from other threads and DO NOT reflect my dealer...

"My dealer says I'll be the first person with the option to buy what I ordered"...

"My dealer just called and cyber grey is no longer available..."

"My dealer got in trouble for selling cars at MSRP..."

Post your horror stories as they come in...

EDIT-> My purpose for this thread was to see what dealers are starting to change now that production is almost upon us, NOT how they attempted to screw people over months ago.

I've got a few that came from local dealers I called but didn't order from.

classic - 1500 over for previous customers and 2500 for new customers.

fischer (titusville) - 2500 over for "environmental wrap" and 5000 over for "everything (paint protection and other bs)". I asked if I could get it without the crap and they said no, at least 2500 over MSRP

bob steele - said that gm couldn't guarantee that customers would get what they want so they're ordering lot cars and going to let people come in and test drive, etc. Sounds like they're trying to sell em to the highest bidder.

don mealey - no guide number, just putting in orders. Said no dealer knows how many they're going to get. I told him that he was wrong and other dealers as well as the internet disagrees. I'm sure they're just trying to order as many as they can.

My dealer- Saying GM emailed him and CGM is cancelled and have to change color. going have a nice talk with him, we have ordered 5 different vehicles from him over the years

I think these dealers would rather people order cars they can get quicker to close the sale quicker. Cash flow is becoming a real problem for dealers.

Originally Paddock. To make a long story short, I found I was eligible for GSU, they said they wouldn't honor it (later said they would only when I canceled), so I moved to Joe Basil Chevrolet.

You don't and dealer "fees" are generally

unless they include ttl or at least _tl or sometimes an "acquisition fee" for writing a lease deal.

One local Chevy dealer told me the SS would be in the mid 40's if I bought from them.

My dealer told me there is no way of knowing a status number for the car....nor would he know how to obtain something like that.........SMART MAN!

I hear all of these horror stories and am so lucky that the 2nd dealer I contacted said MSRP...guaranteed with $500 deposit, which he then waived because I showed up in my Army uniform...

. Not only that, but he's been in constant contact with me about constraints, (I have two with CGM and the STS), emails, and just general conversation.

Notice how I said "2nd". The first dealer that I called wanted $1500 over MSRP and 1/3 deposit to order and I thought THAT was crazy. You guys need to move to Oregon!!!

First dealer I talked to said I can order but I'd be #30 of 29 allocations...he wanted $5K over MSRP to even be in that spot!

Second dealer said half down before they'd take my order!

Last dealer (the one I went with) started at $5K over MSRP but I got them to MSRP and only $1K down.

It's been a tough road to say the least! And for anyone to wonder why the Big 3 are hurting...just go buy a new car and you'll see pretty quick!

E-mail GM about the CGM and wait for a response, and if it's still available, but delayed, take the e-mail with you, and teach your dealer how to run a business. If he's still a jerk about it, than report him to GM, they don't need those kind of people.
