Need your opinions; marks on paint
Hey everyone. So I washed my car last night and afterwards i noticed some strange "water mark/bubble" looking blemishes. The difference with these is that they are very smooth to the touch almost as if they are under the wax or clearcoat. I did get my car detailed last Friday so my automatic assumption is that something happened there during the process. They were definitely not there before hand but at the same time ive got no clue what they are. No other spot on my car has this.
Any thoughts you guys & gals can provide is appreciated.

looks like water got under the clear coat and caused it to raise.

Yea that looks pretty bad. Almost looks like air bubbles under a bad tint job, except it's in your paint.
I'd definately take it back to the dealer and or the detailer. How long have you had the car? Has it ever been re painted?

I have a spot like that on the roof of my '96. Looks like the clear coat is coming up. Mine started to flake off after looking like that. Of course, that happened after owning the car for 14 years.

Camaro8810, not being to FEEL IT myself.....but from the picture, and what you discribed had been done to your car. IF when you had it detained, IF the detailer POLISHED the car, or used a buffer in the process, it looks to me that he BURNT the paint at some point....in otherwards got the surface TO HOT and caused the bubbles to form under the clear.

Too me it doesn't appear to be a "burn" and I've cleaned thousands of cars back when I was in the detailing business. Maybe you could give us some kind of pic to reference the actual size of the spot. It looks like more of a chemical spill in my opinion, perhaps a thinner of some kind, or maybe some type of acid. Either way take it back ASAP and get a couple of estimates from body shops that you trust to work on you baby, because it looks like it's more than likely going to need to be re-finished.
Good Luck, John

Unfortunately, unless you have a really good relationship with the owner, you're probably going to be on the hook for the repair since you didn't bring it to his attention when you picked the car up.

Thats a strange one.... it ALMOST looks directional, like a splash. Have you attempted to wipe it off with a detail spray and microfiber towel? Might just be something splattered up and stuck.

Kinda what I'm thinking, but if it didn't come off with something damp and a towel, or at least change no. Guess we'll see what he says.

I have done that before. I have even had to use a hand polish to break it down till it was gone.
