From L99 to Ls3

Now on my 5th - 5th gen camaro. Recent trade was from 2010 2SS L99 to 2011 2SS Ls3. The ls3 didnt feel as fast as my L99 with an exhaust. The dealership jut installed SLP Loudmouth 1 on the Ls3 and it turned into a differnt animal. Both ae great cars but the manual is a completely different driving experience. I just wished the Ls3 had the same aggressive 1st gear as the L99. The Auto is much faster off the line but after that its all Ls3.

I attached pics of the old one and new one. Had to stay with black this time.

Yup. 1lt, Iss auto, 1ss manual, 2ss auto, 2ss manual. Pine belt chevy in Eatontown, NJ loves my patronage. My credit was in the 300's now its almost 700 so my finance rate it always the same or lower everytime I trade. My finance rates started at 19% in 2009 now this recent car is 5.9%.

You must have some serious negative equity. I don't see how you could trade that many times and not be seriously upside down. I'm guessing you used a whole jar of vaseline?

5th 5th gen has to be a record! You gonna trade this one in for a ZL1? Sounds like the next step.

So wait. Every test I have seen with changing exhaust (rear portion) nets less than 10hp. So 10hp turned your car into a different animal? Maybe because it's louder you think it's faster?

That doesn't make sense that you would even get a loan at 300 something score at 19%. If you had a co-signer that interest rate should have been much lower to start. I'm having a hard time believing that car loans would net you such a jump in credit score in a 2 year max period. Assuming your story is true you've must have built up a lot of negative equity by flipping these cars. Let's say your score is now 700, you know that you could have refied pretty easily in the 600s?

I traded in a 2002 BMW m3 plus 10 grand I had leftover from my Iraq deplyment on the first camaro, so my positive equity is stil there even after all the trades, and I put 2-4 grand down on the others as well.

Could be that or the 40-50 lbs of weight I shed from dumping the stock mufflers to just pipes.

My father co-signed. He also has crappy credit but has a large income he's a computer programmer. I said earlier I traded in a BMW M3 and ten grand down so I had alot of positive equity to start. I have no reason to make it up. Just look through my posts over the months and years I posted pics everytime I traded.

So say you shed 50lbs, I don't think you would feel that. Just wondering....because if it turned your car into a different animal....I need to do mine.

WOW, good thing the resale value is amazing on these cars. If that was a 350Z or something else you would loose your shirt.

Congrats on the LS3!!

I think it is something mental about just laying into the floor with the L99, instead of raking through the gears and having a louder exhaust that make you feel like this car is faster.

I went with the L99 so my wife can drive also... but I am not delusional to the fact that with a good driver in an LS3, I would likely be toast.... with that said I wouldn't trade in my L99 for the world. I just cannot imagine how money would be lost in the transition of 5 cars, instead of keeping your 6 and waiting for the ZR1.
