Having Today as a Delivery Date is Torture!

I couldn't take it anymore. I had to post something. I thought that yesterday was torture, but it doesn't hold a candle to today's torture! I was told my delivery date to the dealer is today. All day I have been waiting impatiently, since I got to work! Then after hours of silence I reached into my pocket to check my phone. That's when I started to panic. I forgot my phone at home. The thought of not knowing if I recieved a phone call was destroying me so I went home on lunch to pick up my phone in case I missed a call. What's this! 3 missed calls! It has to be...! No! No calls from the dealer... So I went back to work. At least now I can just stare at my phone while I'm at work and maybe if I stare long and hard enough it will magically light up and the dealer will be on the other end with good news. Wishful thinking

I've also been reading a lot of horror stories about taking up to 3 weeks after the announced delivery date for the car to arrive. I'm hoping this isn't the case. So far my dealer has been extremely reliable on updates. How long on average does it take after the dealership delivery date? Did some people actually get their cars on the delivery date announced?

Then they have to do the PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) so it might be the day after

Mine is sitting at Tom Henry Chevrolet...awaiting parts to make her the way I want her...stripes to be painted...wheels to be fitted...I have not even sat in the car and there it sits all torn apart awaiting goodies...the wait is driving me INSANE. I go down to the warehouse to work only to run back up to my office to look for updated pictures!! I am really happy to hear she arrived...now PICTURES PLEASE!
