Insane Brake change cost

I dropped the V6 off at the dealer because I have the most annoying whistle coming from under the car and they called back (after 2 days of trying to find the noise) and tell me I need my rotors turned and new brakes all the way around the car. They gave me a price and I asked them to write it down as I thought they are out of their ever loving mind.

The car will be going into Owen @ A.R.D for $350.00 and I'll be getting the Hawk HP+s installed.

I sure hope they can find the problem that I dropped the car off for.

I went back and picked up the car after they had it for four business days looking for the noise coming from under the car. I'm not sure what side of stupid they think I had woke up on but the service advisor begins by telling me that my front brakes have less than one millimeter left on them and the rear brakes are right at 1 millimeter. The front tires need replaced as they are well below the wear mark. I just had it in to the tire shop the weekend before to have the tires replaced the rear tires and said the fronts are good for at least another 5k. I asked about the reason I brought the car in, the noise from under the car and he tells me that a cracked windshield will make the same noise. That they will replace the brakes and windshield and I will have no more noise. The cost is just a little over 1,000 dollars plus tax. This is for brakes and a windshield. The tires are about another $600. WTFO! I asked for the car.
I did call A.R.D. and asked them to 911 me some brake pads for the car and that I would like them to see if they can find the damn noise that is making me crazy. It took Owen less time to locate the noise than it did for them to put the car on the rack. The brakes didn't need to be done but since they did rework their schedule to get my car in I've got no problem paying them. I would recommend that you stay clear of Buckalew Chevrolet.

I stopped bringing my vehicle to GM after they charged me well over $300 for an oil and diff fluid change, and that was with a so called free oil change (still charged me for oil, because synthetic oil was not part of the free 1st. change deal).
Since, then I don't deal with GM anymore.

Thats wrong. Your frist oil change doesn't matter what kind of oil you have.

I would've reported them to the BBB and to the State AG's Business Fraud Office. Clearly they were trying to defraud you of almost $2,000.

Subject: Chirp, Click, Tick Noise From Under Vehicle While Driving
Models: 2010 Chevrolet Camaro
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this
PI.
Condition/Concern:
Customer may comment of a chirp, click or tick noise from under the vehicle while it is in
motion.
Recommendation/Instructions:
The click or tick noise may be caused by a loose label that is attached to the prop shaft, inspect
the label if it is found to be loose remove the label.
The Chirp noise may be caused by the propshaft center support bearing floating on the shaft. To
verify the noise is from the center support bearing, apply some spray lubricant on the center
support bearing and test drive the vehicle. If noise is reduced or eliminated, replace the prop
shaft with current SPO stock.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the
condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need

to be performed.
