Not required but it can't hurt to do it.

I finally did it after 1000 miles....I did notice a loss of the "lag" I felt, and a little more pep. Whether it was in my head or not..... it was free, pulled them before I went to bed, put them back in when I woke up.

Yep, wouldn't hurt if you've driven out that 1st dealer tank and you've been putting premium ever since. I did because I was unsure what octane the dealership put in mine upon delivery. I did notice a little more umph, but nothing spectacular like the L99 guys mention.

Why do the fuses have to be left out for hours and preferably overnight?

I think it has to do with capacitors retaining a charge. Have to let ALL the juice out.

Thanks. Would have thought it would only take 5-10 sec. Dang flux capacitors can drive you nuts.

I did mine and left it out for an hour....and then put them back in. I didn't drive the car for almost 24 hours after it though. I noticed a difference.

OK, so this morning I put 5 & 20 back in. The car seems more responsive, but I wouldn't say it has lots more power. But I haven't got on it yet either, so don't really know.

Smoother idle, maybe a bit. I did notice a difference in manual shifting, have to give it a tad more gas to get rolling. Acts as if the timing is a bit more advanced, but not by much. Could be the placebo effect.

I bet the computer has to relearn its trims or whatever...you just erased it's memory. 50 or 100 miles should have it back to normal.
