I took it to a mechanic that said the nail didnt go all the way through and it doesnt need to be fixed. I call BS...
My air pressure goes down about 1psi every other day. What should I do?

I would get a patch put on the inside of the tire. When using a plug, the belts could be seperated.

Had a nail with only 3000 miles... happened to be going to the dealer for warranty work, they patched it from the inside. Said they don't do plugs for safety reasons... only cost $25 at the dealer, I'd imagine a tire place would be cheaper.

That's exactly where my tire got a nail just like yours, must be twins. Tire serviceman said it didn't go all the way through and I wasn't loosing pressure. However it did go through, I pulled it out and plugged it for temporary until I get a new tire. That spot looks like it on the corner which means they would not want to patch it unfortunately. Plan on getting a new tire buddy.

My Pirelli's are nail magnets. I think i've had 3 or 4 in the 1.5yrs i've had the car. My tire shop fixes mine for free since he's s good friend and I've always bought tires from them. They also know they'll get more $$ when these things wear out. They don't use plugs either. Every tire gets broke down and a patch installed. I'd definitely go that route.
