Just Registered, this is my first thread. purchased 2011 2SS/RS, L99 Conv, Victory-Red, Blk top. This is my first Camaro, Wife saw it and said "I Want that" Traded in 3rd Gen Mazda MX5 GT. She hated it! I am very pleased with the vehicle so far, much more comfortable than the MX5, Love the looks. but it is way too heavy. but that is probably why it drives so well, it feels very solid. This is the first true performance vehicle I have had since I sold my 3rd Gen FD RX7, Twin-Turbo 5 ys ago.:( The Camaro is quick, but not as quick as the Rice-Burner was. but now I am retired and need the rear seating for the Grand Kids.

In stock form 0 - 60 the Camaro is quicker. May not "feel" as quick.

Thanks guys, and yeah I am a Grandpa, I grew up during the original "pony-Car Wars" of the sixties, use to Drag-Race every weekend, until the Marine Corps, and Vietnam put an end to that for awhile.

The FD RX7 had a 4.9 zero to sixty stock, but mine was by no means stock! it was quicker than the Camaro, but at the cost of reliability, it was a money-pit, had to replace engine at 44k, did it myself to save $$, but still expensive. but even at that it was the most fun to drive vehicle I have ever owned. but the Camaro is more of a pleasure to drive on long trips.

The L99 has a 4.7 0-60 and the M6 a 4.8.

Oh, and Welcome to C5 and congrats on the vert.

I was a big RX7 fan. Drove an 87 or 88 twin turbo a couple times but the 1st gen was my favorite. Heard some rumors of a 2012 RX7. Any truth to that?
