Question L99, Magnaflow, AFM, hi-flow cats?

Search didn't pull anythyhing up, but I'm wondering if anybody has an L99 with a Magnaflow system, hi-flow cats and AFM. If so, how does it sound and how would you rate the drone?

I know I'm gonna get the, "tune out the AFM" answer, but before I go with a tune, I want to know what it sounds like before.

Any exhaust with high flow cats is a good option. We carry a ton of options and recomend you take a look at Stainless Works systems before you buy anything. We have tons of videos up on our site. Check it out. We carry a couple options for high flow cats to.

I currently have the Magnaflow Street Series Catback with no cats and Stainless Works LT's. My AFM is tuned out but I did drive the car without a tune for about a week. I had no drone prior to the tune nor after. This setup is very stealthy when crusing at part throttle and at 70-80mph. You should be fine with HF cats and the street series. I did have the comp
Series prior to long tubes which was a muffler delete and the drone drove me nuts with AFM.

Magnaflow Street Series 2.5 is a very quiet catback. It comes with the two regular Magnaflow mufflers along with a resonated X pipe (like a 3rd muffler).

The catback needs long tube headers. Without long tubes its really quiet. But with long tubes it sounds great (no drone and not too loud).

I had the Magnaflow 2/5" Competition series cat-back and loved it before I installed the LT's and hi flow cats. After that it drove me nuts. I installed the Magnaflow mufflers and while I could still hear a tiny amount of drone, it was barely noticable. I drove that way for about 2 weeks until I had the car tuned and the AFM turned off. I considered leaving the AFM on, because I had to listen closely to actually hear it.

Want the best of both worlds ?
Keep your AFM and warranty. Go with the Solo J-pipe axle backs. Great deep muscle car sound with no drone at any rpm/speed.

So...with the responses I'm getting so far, it seems that the drone won't be too bad.

Maybe I should have clarified, but my current set-up consists of the following:

Name: Magnaflow 16483.jpeg
Views: 521
Size: 23.4 KB

I don't wanna tune my car cuz I don't want to lose my warranty and I'm cheap

I don't hear the AFM at all as of now.

Good idea! Maybe I can find some high flow cats at Dollar Tree!

Still deciding between the JBA's and Solo's...

Thanks! I got some neighbors that I want to piss off. They already give me weird looks when I drive by, might as well give them a reason now.
