Adam's Interior Products review

Hey yo,

After reading through several threads, I finally decided to give Adam's Polishes a try and order several products to clean my interior and glass. I am generally for skeptical of hype and tend to go with a lot of legacy products when it comes to car cleaning. So this is my review of my Adam's experience from soup to nuts:

Ordering Online - Website is well organized with a good layout. Discounts are easy to apply, calculated properly, and invoicing is clean and timely. Shipping update was also prompt and correct, and product was delivered the exact time promised.

5 / 5 Stars - Excellent

Receipt and Inspection - I really appreciate the way Adams packages there products. Capped off bottles with sprayers included on the side. I feel this is helpful as it reduces potential damage in transit, and also makes bottle storage easier for later. Similar high end product competetors use a similar packaging, but the good labeling and free instuctional DVD is above-and-beyond the competition.

5 / 5 Stars - Excellent

Adam's Leather and Interior Cleaner - Here begins the real test. I was shockingly surprised how good the quality of this cleaner was. The consistency was very fine, not thick, similar to other sprays, however it was so much more delicate upon application. There was nothing harsh about this cleaner, and it applied smoother than any interior cleaner I have used before. No "dragging" feeling as I wiped down interior surfaces, from vinyl to leather. The response from the car's interior was refreshing. Not only does it clean, but you get a sense of the product soaking into the vinyl and leather, not just applying itself over the surface. This is very benficial, as other cleaners I have used in the past remove dirt, dust and debris, however they leave a look to be desired on the surface, as if cleaning it had some sort of expense on the vinyl/leather. None of that here. Just a smooth, consistent finish.

5 /5 - EXCELLENT

Adam's Leather and Interior Conditioner - I was surprised to see that this conditioner had the consistency of almost some type of exterior polish. Much thicker than typical interior polishes, I got a sense that this was the reason that this particular product offered UV protection as oppossed to the other brands that simply generate a shine. The application of this product was similar to the cleaner in the way the vinyl and the leather responded. The interior really seemed to "soak in" this product. It applied very evenly. It produced a noticeable, but not obnoxious shine. When sun reflects off of it, it is not blinding. It glistens quiet nicely. Very superior to competetive brands, and the UV protection is good peace of mind for those looking for a long term solution. The only fault I can find in this product, is that much like other conditioners and treatments, it does produce a slight "slippery" finish on parts of the interior that are touched. I suppose I am just nit-picking here, but I have always hoped for a subtly shiney interior finish without that slippery feel. I will absolutely continue to use this conditioner, but I may skip out on the steering wheel, shifter, and other frequently touched areas in the future.

Update: So after reading the application advice of other forum members, I wanted to revise my rating based on this alternative method.

I went through the interior and removed any dust/particles that had stuck to the original application so that I could reapply. I put another coat of the conditioner on with a much lighter application, and tried to really rub the conditioner into the vinyl. I decided to leave the high-touch areas like the steering wheel and shifter alone, since the "sticky" feel is gone and the consistency of the conditioner still looks great in these areas. This second, lighter but more aggressive application of the conditioner looks great and does not have much of that "sticky" texture, and the glisten is a bit more dull and subtle, yet still makes the vinyl look brilliant and new. After a few days, I did notice there were a few unever areas, again likely due to user error. However, I am much more comfortable with the product now, and each application seems to go on better. I'm sure the "third time is the charm" will give the best and most satisfying effect.

4.5 /5 - Great (original rating was 4)

Adam's Glass Cleaner - The first thing I noticed - it smells good! A slight lemony-sent, however not obnoxious. Almost a natural smell. When I applied this, I was impressed at how quickly it wiped into the windows and then disapated. Some competetor products have to be really rubbed in to get any streaks out. Adam's glass cleaner takes a lot less effort and the sheen is noticeable right away. I think I rushed the cleaning of my interior windshield glass, which had some decent build up. This came out a little speckled. Hopefully another coat will clarify and remove any streaks. But I chalk this one up to user error and my own lazyness (after 4 hours of car cleaning, I rushed the last step a bit).[/B]

5 / 5 - Excellent

Summary - I rarely give such high ratings for cleaning products and often have a hard time distinguishing certain brands. Adam's is one of the few that stands above the competition. Since the interior cleaners passed with flying colors, I will be ordering up on the exterior cleaners. I have no doubt in the consistency and quality in the standard of any of their products.

The only time I had a shine from the leather conditioner is when I used too much conditioner. This stuff is made to leave a dull matte finish and a little goes a long way.

Yep they pack it like it's nitro glycerin.

Excellent write up!

Wheelman,

I too originally had the problem with the conditioner and quickly learned that I was using way too much product, after a quick wipe with a microfibre towel no more greasy feeling,. Now I have learned better the amount to use without having to wipe it down. I do not have any problems with the steering wheel or shifter.

Less is kinda more thing with that stuff. Very nice write up and I completely agree.

John

I really can't say enough good things about Adams... A bad thing: they're gonna make me goto detailers anonymous, for a detailing addiction.

Lol. My dad is the one that complains about my car stuff. My girlfriend complains too, but she's very confusing. She complains, but yet she keeps buying me more stuff for my birthday and Christmas.

Thanks everyone for the feedback, and thank you Adams for the offer. Will certainly be contacting you soon for more fine products!

And thanks also for the advice on the conditioner application. I hate to take a point away from Adam's due to my poor application of the product and user error. Tomorrow is another Friday, and thus another detail day, so I will follow the advice of those that posted here with their better experience and provide an update in my original post.

Thanks again!

I love everything but their glass cleaner. I think I need to try one of their glass towels. I can't get it to wipe off very good. But yeah, everything else in Adam's arsenal is stellar!!

That's what I try to make My Wife understand. I always tell Her "You know where I'm at all the time, in the garage, cleaning your car"!!!

It's funny, She gets irritated by how much time I spend cleaning the cars but then always comments on how she loves how clean our cars are and makes fun of her Girlfriends Cars to Me on how gross they are in inside and out... Women, someday I'll figure them out!!

I went back to Stoner's Invisible Glass, which is silly because I have a gallon of Adam's glass cleaner just sitting there
