Tach and Speedo: Does Anyone Else Think They Should Be Reversed?

Let me start by saying I really am enjoying my camaro. Bought a leftover 2010 SIM 2SS/RS M6 back in march and as of today just passed 1000 miles.
My only issue with the car thus far is the positioning of the speedometer and the tach. When i lower the steering wheel it's hard to see the right side of the tach which makes me worried that eventually i am going to over rev the car/hit the rev limiter. It seems to me that GM should have postioned the speedo on the right side and the tach on the left since you can still see your speed in the DIC. Does anyone else have the same problem?
I searched before i posted and could not find any threads on this and i apologize if this is a repost to an already discussed concern.
To any GM techs, would it be possible to have my local dealership move my tach to the left side and the speedo to the right?

Nope. I like it like it is. While I do watch the tach, I use the DIC mph for better accuracy.

My seating position must be different. I can see the Tach clearly, use the digital speedometer, and never even look at the analog speedometer.

If you hit the limiter, you should be safe, the car will not let you rev above it. Someone correct me if I am wrong

In an automatic they are both fairly worthless. I use the HUD to see how fast I'm going and I use the digital readout to see my MPG. A speedo that shows 0 to 180 is pretty worthless anyway, you can't differentiate how fast you're travelling within any decent tolerance. I would rather the speedo was programmable and gave you different options such as a low range (0-60) and a high range (60-180). That would be more useable than what we have now.

I think the position of the seat and the steering wheel will play a part for you. Mess around with both variables (seat and steering tilt/telescope) and see if you can't reach a happy medium that still keeps you in correct ergonomical and airbag-effectiveness position.

You should be able to comfortably be able to see the gages through the wheel and also have the airbag at least (12") away from your torso and it should be aimed at the center of your torso as well.

I'm curious what difference the improved gauges in the 2012 will make. Will the new style gauges fit into the older dash? With the HUD, I never look at the dash gauges anymore. Before I got my car, I thought the HUD was just a gimmick; now I'm hooked.

I dont use either the TAC or Speedo, but even if I wanted to I couldnt. With my seat and wheel adjusted the way I need them I cannot see the top edges of those 2 gauges. Plus, the speedo needle is too thick and I would need to fix that if I wanted to use it.

I would have preferred them reversed. Years of driving Chevy trucks makes for a well ingrained habit. Even if the positions were reversed, the needle is too fat and I would continue to use the digital speedometer.

They're positioned the same way as in most of the cars I've ever driven or rode in, so that's not a concern. And at 5' 11" I have the wheel positioned at the top, where I can see everything very clearly - gauges, road, all of it.
